~~ The Apple Barn ~~

Hi there!! When I saw this paper, by My Little Shoebox, I knew what I would make with it. I used to take my Mother to Ellijay, Georgia to buy apples fresh, from lil red apple barns that are all along the country roads. I used Everyday Paperdolls for the barn, Heritage for the cart and tractor, Stretch Your Imagination for the apple tree and the apples are from a punch I bought at Big Lots for 1 dollar!! Used the Swirls Cuttlebug folder for the tree, Swiss Dots and a Tin Holtz embossing folder for the barn. Did some inking and doodling and then sat down and had an apple with peanut butter on it ! lol I'm sending this one to my Mother and I hope it brings back fond memories!!! Thanks for stopping by Y'all !!!

~~ Wooohoo Another Christmas Card ~~

Hi Y'all...Sandi might be bossy, but she sure has lit a fire under my fanny!! Thanks girlfriend ! I used the same sketch, just flipped it and added some ribbon. I used Camp Out for the tree...its skimpy, but I wanted it that way so you could see the presents on the printed paper. I used Stretch your Imagination for the presents. Added a lil bling and Smooch Spritz...2 down..a zillion to go!! Thank you all so much for stopping by !!

~~ Santa's Slackers....1st Card Challenge ~~

Hi y'all...Sandi ( Daveshunny) and I were talking this morning and we had made a vow to make at least 1 Christmas card a week....way back in January. As most of you know, my back was dealing me fits for MONTHS and this never came to fruition. So she suggested we challenge each other and decided to name our challenges...Santa's Slackers and this is the 1st card. We used this sketch Sandi found and this is my interpretation of it. We had to use Winter Woodlands( she is so bossy ...lol..love ya Sandi ) so I used the snowflake on that cart. She says we have to write down the dimensions too....( see I told ya...bossy ) The snowflake on the mat with scallop, was cut at 3.41 x 3.34...the snowflake by itself, which I cut 3 times , was cut at 2.80 x 3.37.The smaller flakes were cute at 2.36 x 3.35. I used a punch for the back of them, added some pearls and a lil tag...and there it is....our 1st challenge card !!

~~ Scaredy Kat ~~

Happy Monday !!!! Yes, I made another Fall /Halloween card....I can't help myself !! I used another vintage print and cut it with Spellbinders Label 4 die.Mounted it on another label that had been embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.I was soooo aggravated with the cat on the Oct 31 cart, I decided to use a Sizzix die for this cat...didn't have to cuss him at all!! Used a lil punch I bought last year for the witch and used the Gypsy font for the 31...I thought it looked creepy! Added the doillie and ribbon and there ya go. Thanks so much for stopping by!!

~~ Clyde the Crow ~~

I really am anxiously awaiting Fall...can you tell ??? After lifting the cute crow, from Sherri, I wanted to try to make another one.I was surfing the web and came across an adorable crow at the Cottage Cutz web sight and I fell in love with him, and this is my take on him. I used Doodlecharms for his head..its the egg cut.George for his beak,Paper Doll Dress Up for the pumpkin, his hat, wings, kerchief and the hay stack...which is really that ugly lil monster. I just used the hide feature on my Gypsy and did away with his eyes and mouth. The pitchfork and his overalls are from Everyday Paperdolls. Lots of inking and popping, added a lil Cuttlebug die flower, a brad and some raindrops and there you have him, Farmer Clyde.I really had so much fun making him and I think, after I tweak him a bit, I just might enter him in the Alabama State Fair! Thank you all for stopping bye and taking a peek !!!

~~ Vintage Halloween ~~

Hi Y'all.....I found all these cute vintage images at Free Vintage Halloween Postcards and I decided to make a quick lil card. Well, quick it was not, because the cat, from the October 31 cart doesn't cut so well. I tried changing the speed, the pressure, and I cut it 8 times before I finally said forget it...and I lopped off his whiskers...they did not want to cut so cleanly for me...grrrrrrrrrr!! Anyway, I used Spellbinder, Label 4( I think) for the mat, added the ribbon, buttons and pearls and cussed the cat a whole lot before I sprayed him with some Tattered Angels mist and mounted him. Oh I sprayed the vintage image with Smooch Spritz...I'm really loving this spray!! Have a great weekend and thanks so much for stopping by !!!!

~~ Anniversary Card for Dan ~~

Good Morning Y'all !! Our anniversary is fast approaching and I knew I better get Dan a card made. It looks more like a Valentines card, but anniversaries are all about love...right ? I used the Spellbinders heart die for this card , Cuttlebug folders, Swiss Dots , Swirls and Hearts, along with alot of Ranger ink. I found some foil that I bought years ago and I drug it out to see how it would emboss and it really does a great job!! It will cut you too...I now know this! Used a border punch and cut the hearts on Grungpaper and then a top layer of Core'dinations. Added the ribbon and there it is....my heartfelt anniversary card! Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek!!!

~~Hummingbirds in Flight ~~

Good morning Y'all.....Happy Friday!! Dan and I have really enjoyed watching all the beautiful lil hummers that have taken over our yard in the last few weeks. I guess they are fueling up for the big flight to Central America, because Dan has had to make food and fill the feeders several times a week. Those lil buggers are SO territorial and we both get a big kick out of watching them hoovering and dueling over the feeders. We have about a dozen pink crepe myrtle trees and they perch in them all during the day. Hence, the inspiration for this card. I used Home Accents for the hummingbirds and Home Decor for the branch. I used stickles on the flowers and then sprayed the entire card with Smooch Spritz and boy did that make a big difference ! I added the pearls and there you have it, my ode to the precious Hummingbird! Thanks for stopping by ad I hope y'all have a great weekend !!!

~~ Crow's in the Cornfield ~~

I just LOVE Fall!! So, I had to make another card with a few of my favorite things. Thanks to Sherri from the Cricut Message Board for the inspiration for this adorable crow!! I did a total scraplift on this lil fella. I used the eggs from Doodlecharms for his body, the hearts for his wings and added a lil hat from Everyday Paperdolls. The grass is from A Childs Year, pumpkins from Speaking of Fall and the corn stalk is from Paperdoll Dress Up. I did use my friend Darlene's Qucikutz die for the ears of corn. I really like them much better that the ones on the stalk.Did lots of inking and popping, added the Fall sticker on a Nestabilities mat and there ya have it....a few of the reasons that I LOVE Fall !!!

~~ Happy Beelated Birthday ~~ and CCChallenge

Hi Y'all....one of my swimmin wimmin commissioned a card...she said no rush..its already late! But I got busy and made 1 and I really didn't like it, so I made another and .....wouldn't you know it, I'm not real happy with it either!!! grrrrrrr I get sooo anal sometimes. Dan, my greatest critic agreed with me ( I almost fainted...we seldom agree on anything) and said the 1st card is TOO busy, too many flowers... but then my friend Sandi said that bee's never have too many flowers around. Thanks Sandi! lol I'm taking both of them to her tomorrow and she can decide. The 1st card was made using a sizzix die for the large flower and Paisley for the smaller ones. Heritage for the fence and the bee is a sizzix die as well. I got them both for 1.97 so I couldn't pass up that deal at Joann's!! The circle sentiment was computer generated. The 2ND card was made using a flower from Storybook and the bee from Paisley. I also created the Happy Beelated Birthday border around the card on my computer. The font is called Bizzy Bee. Did a lil doodlin on both, lots of layering and popping. Thanks so much for taking a peek ...I'm buzzin outta here for now!!!

~~ Another Fall Card ~~

Good morning Y'all....I guess I'm in the mood for Fall ! The scarecrow was made using a Quikutz die and I cut him out several times to get all the different colored elements. Ran his hat thru my cuttlebug...swiss dots... and crimped the straw around his neck. The pumpkins are a punch, by Martha Stewart.Lots of popping and layering. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek !!! I hope you all have a great week!!!

~~ Along Came A Spider ~~

Hi y'all ! I let the paper do all the work on this card...all I did was cut out a spider!! Layered it, gave it some bling with glitter and some beads and probably should have left the glitter off the spider web...but oh well, I thought it needed something. That was my 1st mistake...thinking! Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek !!

~~ Trick or Treat ~~

I wanted to make the witches shoe to resemble the one on the paper, but I didnt have a pointed shoe, so I improvised and used the one from Sentimentals( or is it from Heritage ?!?...I made it over a week ago..the mind is the 1st to go, right ?!? ) I used the EK Success punch for the stars and moon...a delightful bargain at Michael's for only 299! Added a lil glitter, did some doodlin and poppin, added ribbon and there ya go. Thanks for taking a peek !!

~~ Pumpkins for Sale ~~

I made this card while at the lake. It's about 10 degrees cooler at the lake, than at home and believe it or not, leaves are falling all over the place there, altho the drought might have something to do with it. Anyway, the coolness put me in the mood to make some fall cards. I used Gypsy Wanderings for the pumpkins and A Child's Year for the wagon. The flower is from Stretch Your Imagination. Lots of layering, popping and inking. Thanks so much for stopping by !!!

~~ More Floral's ~~

~~ A Few Christmas Cards ~~

I promised myself that I would make some Christmas cards while I was at the lake and I did manage to make 3. I used Winter Woodland for most of the cuts and I think Camp Out for the trees. The Christmas cart was used for the poinsettia. ( I think) I made these 2 weeks ago and the ole memory is not too good anymore! Lots of inking, popping and I went a lil crazy with Glossy Accents. Used a lil glitter, snowflake punches, ribbon and buttons. Thanks for stopping by....Happy Hump Day !!!!

~~ The Rooster's ~~

I just love chickens and roosters....I have an enormous collection and I don't know why I haven't used this cut...From My Kitchen, sooner. These are just a few of the cards I made while I was at the lake.Lots of layering on the ole bird, inking and popping. The baby chicks are from My Community. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek!!!!

~~ The Floral Collection ~~

Good morning Y'all !!! I got back from the lake yesterday and while I was gone I got some MoJo back!!! wooohoooo I also found a Que Sera Sera paper pack at Michael's before I left ( My all time favorite paper! ) and I went crazy making cards with it! Most of these cards were made using Walk in My Garden and Stretch Your Imagination was used for the sunflower card. I only wish I had taken my Cuttlebug with me to enhance these cards...oh well.Did lots of layering, inking and added buttons and ribbons on some. I also left most of them blank so that I can use them for any occasion. Thanks so much for stopping by...I'm off to catch up on some blogs!!

Welcome to My World

This sight is dedicated to the art of card making....of which I am addicted ! I began making cards a few months before Dan was deployed to Iraq.I wanted to make sure he had a new card to open every day, so I used BlueMountian.Co and created him 2 months worth of cards !About a year ago I saw that famous infomercial for a little bug called a Cricut.Well, after watching it numerous times, I HAD to have it...and I ordered it!!!Then I found the Cricut Message Board and I hit pay dirt!!! I was, and still am so inspired by some of the talented women on that board!I have to give them credit for making me the card maker that I am today!!!
Thank you ladies, from the bottom of my heart!
I hope you enjoy looking at my cards, as much as I enjoy making them!!!
