~~ Sympathy for Sally ~~

Good morning Y'all ! I gotta tell ya, I'm feeling all creepy! I had started making this card because you never know when you will need a sympathy card.Well, I almost had it complete when the phone rang and it was my sweet friend Sally, sobbing into the phone and I knew it couldn't be good news.... Sally is ALWAYS bubbly and in such a good mood. She had just found out that her Daddy had died in his sleep during the night. It sent chills running over me, because I had literally just misted this card with some Smooch and was waiting for it to dry!! Of course I was saddened to hear her news, but the whole thing has given me the willies! (I'm crazy ...I know ! ) I used Spellbinders Labels for the matting, Wild Card for the wording...there is no shadow so I tried making it....it didn't turn out so well, so I kinda placed it off center... Paisley for the flower and the large butterfly is a Spellbinders die as well....the small ones are a Martha Stewart punch. Added the rick rack,oh and I used a Fiskars punch too,and misted the flower and butterflies. I did some embossing with the Textiles Cuttlebug folder. Thanks for taking a peek!!!

~~ Fall ~~

Hi Y'all....I'm Jitterbuggin this week!! I made this card using the flowers on the Paisley cart. I am telling you.... I LOVE these flowers!! I want to thank ~~ Ina Vorreiters ~~ from the Cricut Message Board for posting these flowers and making me drool! Here is the link for the tutorial...YouTube - Flower Tutorial - Prima Petite Mums I just followed these instructions and walllla....gorgeous fall mums !! I think they could pass for Zinnias too. I know I will be making lots of these flowers. Anyway, easy peasy card....I didn't use all the layers on the bottom flower but I did use all 6 layers for the top flower. Embossed that orangey/red strip of paper, did some inking, added buttons and the rub on ...Fall, on the Sizzix tag. Thanks for stopping by..I am off to make me a garden of flowers !!!

~~ HI ~~

Happy Monday Y'all !!! If you didn't know, I am addicted to Create a Critter !! After I finished my SSC card yesterday....I was just had to make a more colorful card and this is what I came up with..of course I changed the papers several times before I finished it. I used CAC for that darling lil frog and the dragonfly. The scalloped background piece is from that cart too. Since there was no shadow for the lily pad or the scalloped mat, I tinkered around with the G and finally got something that I could live with ! That was a test of my patience...trust me !! Did some embossing , a little doodlin, added vellum wings at the last second and lots of popping.Oh, I did use Wild Card for the HI. Thanks for stopping by and I hope y'all have a GREAT week!

~~Santa's Slackers Card~~

Good Morning Y'all... I used the lil Santa from the Christmas Cheer cart. Did some paper piecing with this Jolly Ole Elf. Used the scroll feature from the same cart. The tags are a Sizzix die cut. Did some inking and embossing and added ribbon and buttons and there he is. I hope you all have been nice, so Santa will bring you LOTS of cards making supplies for Christmas !!! Thanks for stopping by !!!!

Hi Y'all....I made this card for an old friend, who is in the last stages of Lou Gehrig's Disease. Zannie was Selma's Fonzy!! Always had a motorcycle...was always flirting with the girls, just a larger than life character and everybody loves him!! Thats why I added the motorcycle, cause he had and has a fine collection. I used Everyday Paperdolls for the motorcycle, added the buttons and hemp, did a tad of doodling and inking . I hope the Old Fonzy likes this card!! Thanks for stopping by !!

~~ Happy Birthday, Son ~~

HI Y'all....my baby, will be 34 next month and I bought the Cricut Light Wildlife cart, just to make him this card ! lol What was I thinking??????? This card was a labor of love and I hope he can see that!! John Allen has traveled all over the southeast to shoot a duck ....I don't get it, but he loves to go duck hunting , so that was my inspiration for this card. We have Mallards at the lake and they are always swimming so close together, so I had these doing the same. (Why is the Male bird, always the prettiest??) The flying birds are actually geese in the handbook, but guess what...now they are Mallards. I looked at MANY photos of mallards and tried my best to make them look realistic( cough..cough) This was the best I could do on such a small scale.I used Camp Out for the trees, Create a Critter for the pond and Heritage for SON. It was actually Sons and I just cut off the s, in case you go looking for it. Lots of inking, popping and a little embossing.I used Tim Holtz distressed embossing powder on the lettering, added some hemp and vintage buttons and was SOO glad this one was made.Oh yea, added some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist to give it that early morning feel! lol Thanks so much for stopping by...have a safe

weekend !!!

~~ Get Whale Soon ~~

Good morning Y'all !! I am addicted to Create a Critter...is there a 12 step program for this ??? I went to my new favorite LSS yesterday, The Scrapbook Nook, and I had won this great pack of paper and I knew I had to come home and make a card and I was pretty sure I would use CAC and I did.I got on the Get Whale Soon, bandwagon and created this card. I cut the whale using the regular feature, blackout and shadow. The wave is from Life's a Beach.Embossed it using the..I guess its the Bubbles, Cuttlebug folder.Embossed the back layer as well with larger circles.Did a lil doodlin and the sentiment was computer generated and I cut it out with a Nestability.I cut tiny lil circles for bubbles in the same paper as the whale and then placed clear dew drops over them.I hope y'all have a great weekend!!!! Thanks for taking a peek !!

~~ Forever ~~

Good morning Y'all.....I have had sooo many cards to make lately and this was the last of them....for a minute , anyway! Dan was invited to a wedding this weekend and I made a card for him to take to the reception. ( My name was not included on the invitation...how tacky is that ?!? I started to add big ole googly eyes to the faces !) Anyway, I used the Love Struck cart for the heart shaped image and Home Decor for the word...forever. Love Struck doesn't have a shadow feature so I tinkered with the sizes and I hope the shadow looks ok. I added lots of pearls, did some embossing and sanding and called this one done. Thanks for taking a peek !!!

~~ Happy Birthday ~~

Happy Monday, everyone !! Thank goodness Facebook reminds you of birthdays..otherwise I might have forgotten about Susan's big day! Susan has a heart as big as the sky and she is forever adopting dogs, so I thought the cute lil dog from Create a Critter would be ideal . I cut out the balloons from the same cart. Lots of layering and popping and a lil doodlin.Stamped the sentiment and held my breath.....I am a HORRIBLE stamper...even this lil sentiment worried me to death! I admire you ladies that really stamp on cards !! Thanks for taking a peek and I hope you all have a great week !!!

~~ Santa's Slackers Challenge # 4 ~~

It's that time again....another Santa's Slackers Challenge!!! Sandi and I drew numbers to see which sketch to use and we decided on her chosen sketch. We had to:

Use any Christmas cart that you have.

Flip it, flop it do anything you want to do to it , but follow the basic guide lines of the sketch.

Use traditional Christmas colors...red, green, gold and white.

Add Ribbon.

Have fun!!!!!

This is my take on the sketch.

~~ Merci ~~

Here's my 2ND Thank you card I needed to make and once again, I used Create a Critter. What a fun lil cart this is !!This one is for one of my swimmin wimmin...she brought me 2 jars of vintage buttons... and they LOVE the easel cards, so that's what I made. Cut the poodle in 2 different shades of pink, did some inking, embossing and doodlin and mounted her on a green shadow background...all of my swimmin wimmin are elderly so I wanted that lil French poodle to POP off the BG paper. Thanks so much for stopping to take a peek!!!

~~ Primitive Blessings ~~

Good morning Y'all!! I LOVE all things country and prim....my home is filled with antiques and collectibles so the inspiration for this card came from a lil Blossom Bucket figure I have. I watched a video that Sherri has posted on her Jitterbuggin blog( how to fold the lil frame) and placed the pig in the frame thingy . Thanks for the link Sherri!! ~~ Santa's Slackers Challenge # 2 ~~

Hi Y'all !!! I hope you had a great Labor Day !! Dan and I labored alright....we got to the lake and found that the power had been off for what must have been a week or more. I can't begin to describe how stinky and nasty our fridge was....oh, I might gag just thinking about that smell! Anyway, I had to get busy making a card for the 2ND SSC. This is my take on it. After I had it made, my friend Darlene called to ask me if we had to make the card a 5x7 and I was like what??? Needless to say, mine is a standard A2 card. I used the Christmas cart for the holly and computer generated the lil 25 in the circle. I kinda let the paper work for me. Sprayed it all with Smooch and there you have it ! I hope y'all continue to play along with us...thanks for stopping by!!!!

~~ Shower and Jitterbug Challenge Card ~~

Good morning Y'all...I decided to kill 2 birds with one stone, so I incorporated the Jitterbug Challenge into a shower card that I need for later this month. I used that cute lil Sizzix bee, Paisley for the umbrella and Don Juan for the letter B, which had to be used in the challenge( or a Cricut Bee). Used Cosmo Cricket scraps, Spellbinders Round Scallop die and the sentiment was computer generated. Used the Swirls Cuttlebug folder and sprayed a soft mist of Smooch on the bee, heart and letter B. Thanks for stopping by...I'm headin to the lake for the long weekend. I hope y'all have a great Labor Day weekend....Bee Safe !!!

Welcome to My World

This sight is dedicated to the art of card making....of which I am addicted ! I began making cards a few months before Dan was deployed to Iraq.I wanted to make sure he had a new card to open every day, so I used BlueMountian.Co and created him 2 months worth of cards !About a year ago I saw that famous infomercial for a little bug called a Cricut.Well, after watching it numerous times, I HAD to have it...and I ordered it!!!Then I found the Cricut Message Board and I hit pay dirt!!! I was, and still am so inspired by some of the talented women on that board!I have to give them credit for making me the card maker that I am today!!!
Thank you ladies, from the bottom of my heart!
I hope you enjoy looking at my cards, as much as I enjoy making them!!!
