~~ Hello ~~

Hi Y'all.....I chatted with my friend Sandi online this morning and she all but forced me make a card for the Jitterbug challenge. So this is my take. I used lots of carts for this one. Everyday Paper Dolls for the kite, Doodlecharms for the bows, cause I didn't like the flimsy ones that were part of the kite cut. I used Stretch Your Imagination for the border,Home Decor( I think) for the cloud and Wild Card for the sentiment...wheeeeh. Lots of layering and popping, did a little inking and doodlin, added the buttons and there you have it.A thunderstorm is brewing as I type and the wind is gusting, so I imagine I could run out and fly a kite right now !!! Thanks for stopping by.....I'm headin to the lake tomorrow( if these thunderstorms leave the area) so I hope y'all have a great week!!!

~~ Thank You ~~

Hi Y'all....This card is for the members of my Mother's Church. When my Aunt Evelyn passed away, they prepared our lunch for the day of the funeral and boy oh boy, those southern women can cook!! I used From My Kitchen for all the cuts.Did lots of layering , inking and popping. Oooops, I did use Wild Card for the Thank you. Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek!!!

~~ Sympathy Card for my Cousin, Linda ~~

This is the last of the sympathy cards!!! If I feel the need to send anymore, I'll be buying them...Egads !! My Aunt Evelyn passed away and this card is for her daughter, Linda. Linda and her 94 year old Dad, were the primary care givers and I wanted to use a heart somewhere on the card, to show her how much I love her! I used my heart shaped Nestabilities , centered it and cut it out of the front of the card, although I almost distorted it too much with the flowers.I used Storybook for the flowers and I inked, glittered and popped the top ones and added brown buttons. Did a lil doodlin and added some brown gems for the centers of the lower flowers.Did some embossing and added the ribbon and called this one done. Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers....they have meant so much to me !!!! I hope y'all are having a great weekend !!

~~Even MORE Sympathy Cards ~~

I am about tired of making these cards !!! I don't even know who I made these for!! Not really, one is for a friend of mine I used to work with. Her Mother passed away several weeks ago and the other I will send to my cousin Ken. I used some left over pieces for the seashell card, using Life's a Beach and added that beautiful sentiment that I lifted from Susie B. Just did a lil inking and added some bling on the mats I made using my Nestabilities. The other card was based on the same concept as the LAST sympathy card I made.I got the sentiment from Blue Mountain.com, which is offering FREE Create and Print cards. Speaking of Bluemountain.com...I have had an account with them for about 4 years, but due to Dan's inability to get a job, I decided to cancel my membership this year. They were SOOO sweet when I explained why I needed to cancel and they extended my membership for another 3 months. Wasn't what sweet?!? If you have never been to that sight, you might want to check them out since the cards are free this week.I get lots of my sentiments and ideas from them.Anyway, the cross was cut from Indie Art and of course the butterflies are Martha Stewart. Printed on the vellum and did a lil inking and added brads. I decided to make these sympathy cards a lil more colorful than usual...there is already so much gloominess associated with death and making so many sympathy cards...well, I really needed to cheer MYSELF up. I hope they are appropriate. Thanks for stopping by....I have 3 more sympathy cards to make ...woe is me !!

~~Another Sympathy Card ~~

Hi Y'all.....When Dan and I got back from the lake last week, we found out that our next door neighbors son, had had a massive heart attack and died at the age of 53!! Since I have been dealing with my own loss,I didn't get to go to the funeral, but I did manage to make them a Lemon pound cake yesterday and finish the card this morning. I kept it simple by using Indie Art for the cross and Martha Stewart butterflies.Printed the sentiment on vellum and attached it to the mat with brads. I used Jasmine corners on the inside.I have so many to make, I needed this simple card! Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope y'all are having a great Sunday!!

~~ Sympathy card for my cousin Larry ~~

Hi Y'all...its been ages since I made and posted a card and I knew the day would come when I would have to make this card for my cousin, Larry. His sweet sweet wife, Barbara, lost her 6 year battle with ovarian cancer a few weeks ago. 8 days later my dear, precious Aunt Evelyn, passed away as well. Aunt Evelyn is Larry's mother . Needless to say, we have all been in a tailspin. Altho both of these beautiful women had suffered for years and we knew the end was close for them both, we were not as prepared as we thought we were. I saw this beautiful sentiment on a Susie B card on the Cricut Message Board and I knew when I saw it that I wanted to make Larry a card with this sentiment. My Aunt as well as Larry live on the beautiful gulf coast of Alabama and the sentiment seemed perfect for a card. I used Life's a beach for all the cuts, except for the corners and they were cut using Jasmine.Lots of layering, glitter and a few lil gems completed the card. Thanks so much for stopping by.Please keep us all in your prayers....my Mother is especially sad at the loss of her sister.

Welcome to My World

This sight is dedicated to the art of card making....of which I am addicted ! I began making cards a few months before Dan was deployed to Iraq.I wanted to make sure he had a new card to open every day, so I used BlueMountian.Co and created him 2 months worth of cards !About a year ago I saw that famous infomercial for a little bug called a Cricut.Well, after watching it numerous times, I HAD to have it...and I ordered it!!!Then I found the Cricut Message Board and I hit pay dirt!!! I was, and still am so inspired by some of the talented women on that board!I have to give them credit for making me the card maker that I am today!!!
Thank you ladies, from the bottom of my heart!
I hope you enjoy looking at my cards, as much as I enjoy making them!!!
