~The Frost is on the Pumpkins~

I am sooo excited to share this card with you! Jeannie Phillips, a very talented woman that I met on the Cricut Message Board , gives away a Free Card each Wednesday and each month she has a guest designer and she has asked me to be her guest designer for the month of September!!!! Y'all need to go over to her blog and check out the cards that we will be giving away this month, you just might win both cards !! http://www.winafreecard.blogspot.com/
I'm sure most of you have figured out that Fall is my favorite season! And we had some chilly mornings in Alabama last week...yippeeee!!! Pumpkins rank right up there with crows, sunflowers and scarecrows, with me, so I had to make another card with them featured. This paper screamed my name ( paper can whisper my name and I will buy it, who am I kiddin?!? )
PDDU was used for the pumpkins, cut at 51/2" and 31/2", 3 times.Inside pumpkin was cut at 21/2".
SYI was used for the swirls, cut 2 times at 31/2".
Jasmine was used for the corners, cut at 31/2", 2 times.
LOTS of popping and inking.I used 2 different sizes of Nestabilities scalloped ovals, and added some Recollections pearls to the swirls. I added a touch of glitter spray to the tops of the pumpkins,to make it look like frost! Thanks so much for taking a peek at my art!!!!

Go Buck Wild

I got home from the lake yesterday and Dan met me with a kiss and a request. Will you make me a birthday card for John? John is an elderly man that is a member of the hunting club Dan belongs to.This was a NO brainer ! I dug out my camo paper and my CO cartridge.Used my nesties Label form, cut the deer and the trees at 2",the pine cones at 1".The sign was cut at 21/4".Lots of inking, popping, added the twine and walla! With Sympathy

Our sister in law, Sue lost her dad last week and only notified us on Wednesday so I had to toss a card together. This is my basic sympathy card. I use the basic LO and just change the paper and arrange the butterflies differently.Yep, I'm lazy when it comes to making these cards, cause I hate to have to make them!!! I used my nesties labels, the IA butterfly as well as a MS punch.Embossed the background paper with the textile folder did some inking and popping added the ribbon, pearls, brads and sentiment and there you go. Thanks so much for taking a peek!!!!!

The House of Horror

Since I had this paper out, I decided to make another "spooky" card! The only cart I used was PDDU....ooops, I did use CO for the moon.Black Magic paper, by Core'dinations. I just love that lil skeleton...can you tell??? He is peeking out all over! The frog is caught in the web and the ghost is the official door greeter. The bats are flying by the light of the full moon.I'm kinda liking these spooky cards and I hope you enjoy them too!!! Thanks for taking a look !!!!!!

The Graveyard

Here is my 1st ever attempt at a Halloween card ! Some of you may think I'm crazy, but even when John Allen was little, I never decorated with a spooky theme.I always made his costumes, so I never even had a reason to buy spooky stuff.I'm more of a Harvest girl, scarecrows, crows, pumkins and such. But I have seen so many cute cards posted and I finally got PDDU with all those cute lil cuts, I had to give it a try.I used PDDU for everything but the moon, thats from the CO cart.I love the lil skeleton peeking out from the tree....I dont know why but I laugh everytime I look at him !!! Anyway, I used pop dots, glittered a few things and added the ribbon.I hope you like it !! Thanks so much for taking a look!! xoxo Joy

The Quilt

I was inspired, to make this card, by a quilt I made for John Allen before he was even born! I brought it down out of the closet today and was flooded with emotions. They ran the gambit too!I'm going to spend the night with my Mother tomorrow night and she has always loved this lil quilt and since she can't have it ( although she does have the matching pillow ) I decided to make her a paper version.I thought it was quit ironic, that 33 years ago, I made a quilt, that featured a landscape.SO many of the cards I make now, are of landscapes.Old habits die hard I guess.Once I created lil scenes with fabric and now I do them with paper! I'm a creature of habit and I don't mind at all! Here is a picture of the quilt and the card. Thanks so much for looking and I hope this might bring you all, some fond memories of your own. xoxoxoxo Joy

Vicki's Best Wishes Card

Most of you know that Vicki is getting married on Sept. 5th so I made her a card. She loves the butterfly from the IA cart and the flowers from George, so I incorporated them both. They were both cut at many different sizes and layered.Used the nestie scalloped hearts, embossed the large one with the textile folder and the small one with the hearts.Added a lil calendar with a heart brad over the date of her wedding, added a few more brads to the flowers and some pearls to the heart.Lots of inking and popping and love went into this one. Thanks so much for looking !!!!

U Rock !

Oh, this card was SOOO out of my comfort zone ! My BFF, Sharon asked me to make her grandson, Hayden, a card for his 11th birthday and I suggested the guitar and skull and cross bones on the IA cart.....kinda sorta jokin with her and she said YES, he would love that! His parents are taking him to a Motley Crue concert for his birthday and this would be perfect! Oh goody...Oh boy. Thank goodness I have seen some cards on the MB using those cuts,( the most recent, JulieH....Thanks ! ) so I wasn't totally in the dark.I had this guitar paper for the background and I started from there, cutting the skull and cross bones on shadow and regular feature, the POW image was cut using the blackout function, and the guitar was cut on the regular feature.I used Jasmine for the letters, using both regular and shadow. Each image was cut 3 times, cause I like that chipboard effect.Did lots of inking, popping and praying! Added the lil silver pearls and wiped my brow! Thanks so much for looking ...I hope Sharon approves and I hope y'all do as well!!!!

Shine on.....Shine on Harvest Moon

Y'all know I love this season and I love scarecrows.....so Im sure you aren't surprised by this card !!! I used Dad, from MC for the body and butchered him all up.I tried to make him look like he has on bib overalls . George for the oval for his face. The moon is from CO as is the "bale of hay", its the sign image.I got PDDU today( YIPPEEE, I dont know what took me so long!!) and the pumpkins are from that cart.I also got the pumpkin Cuttlebug folder and embossed the background paper,Black Magic, tho you can barley see it.The crows are of my own hand, a 1" circle cut in half and a tiny lil triangle for his beak.Lots of inking, added some bling to the moon, lots of poppin and there you have him...Sam the Scarecrow!! Thanks so much for looking and commenting!!!!

Get Well Soon !

Hi Y'all, I hope you had a great start to your week!I made this card for our across the street neighbor. He had a stroke last week and came home yesterday, so I thought I would make him a card to send over, along with supper for them tomorrow night.Dan and I don't really know them well, just the college age son, Michael and we know, thru him, that his dad likes to hunt. I used Black Magic paper for the background and embossed it and I'm a lil disappointed that the green doesn't show up as well as I thought it would. I wasnt going to have the cabin, but after I cut the trees and saw the swirls, I had to put a cabin there. So I placed the cabin under the swirls so it looks like smoke flowing from a chimney!I cant remember the sizes that I made on any of the images ! Gettin old, ain't for sissies !!! I DO know that I used CO for all the cuts and they were all cut 2 times, inked and popped. Thanks so much for looking and have a great week !!!

Standing Guard

Oh boy, was this a labor of love!! I love Fall and I adore scarecrows and this lil fella was a challenge for me to create! I used MC, the dad figure, cut many many times, at 3".Used my pinking shears to adapt his clothes. His face is an oval from good ole George, cut at 1 1/4".I am not good at drawing faces, but I think his is kinda cute! I used SYI for the pumpkins, cut at several different sizes as well as the sunflowers. The crow is my own handy work. lol Im sure you can tell !! He started out as a 1" circle, cut in half and a tiny lil triangle for his beak and I just added some small strips for tail feathers and his feet...I think hes cute ! His hat is the snail, from WIMG, that I adapted!!! I couldnt find a hat that I really liked so I got out a few carts and turned the pages upside down , sideways and, well you get my drift,to see if anything would work..and there ya go! Lots of inking, popping, used raffia for the straw and added a whole lotta love !!! Thanks so much for looking!!

5th Annivesary Card

Dan and I will celebrate our 5Th Anniversary next month and I decided I better get a jump on making a card....well, I will probably make several! The lips on Don Juan have been calling my name so I puckered up and cut some! They were cut at 2, 11/2 and 1", the lips on the outside of the card were cut 3 times and I went crazy with the glitter ! I used my Nesties scalloped hearts for the frame around the Happy Anniversary sentiment. The sterling silver heart charm was bought at HL, in the clearance dept. You cant really see it, but it is engraved~~Always~~.I found the cute lil doodle lips for the inside at a free font sight...sorry I cant remember which one, I looked at so many.Did some inking and popping, used a few different border punches and added the ribbon, and sealed it with a kiss ! Thanks so much for looking!!!!

Ladybugs on Parade

Good morning y'all !!!I made this card for my X husbands Aunt, to let her know I was thinking about her. Her grandson was hiking in the Cascades National Park before he began a new job, back in June and was lost for several days.Search parties began looking for him,but his strong faith in God and his constant praying, allowed him to walk out of the park on his own! I was scanning thru Dawns tutorials and found this adorable lil lady bug and had to make one!! I added my twist to it. The large ladybug was cut using my nesties scalloped circles, cut 3 times, the head was made using a 1" punch and I used a hole punch for the antenae(sp) . I used a polka dot stamp, to stamp the black dots on the red paper. I used WIMG for the other ladybugs, cut at 1"....2 times for the black body and 2 times on the shift function.Fiskars punch for the green gingham border, did some inking and poppin.Im going to type a lil note and add it later. TFL!!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday TB !!!

My Great niece is celebrating her 8th b'day in a few weeks and thankfully I found out her new favorite color, are any shades of aqua. So, I created a little background paper, used Celebrations for the Cat...she got a kitty several months back and adores it, hence the Cat, the hat and the 8.Cut the cat and the hat, 3 times, as well as the cupcake.Added some glitter and tiny glass beads for sprinkles, along with some stickles.Did some inking and poppin and Oh yea, made her a little envelope for the insider, to slip some money into.I always kinda"hide" the money and they love having just one more thing to open. Thanks so much for looking !!!!!

Navarre Beach....A Little Piece of Paradise

Dan and I had a chance to go down to the Gulf Coast a few weeks ago and we had a GREAT time!!! I had so much to look at and to be inspired by.We started out in Gulf Shores, as we both have so many fond memories there and we ended our stay in Navarre Beach, our new favorite spot !!! Here are a few cards I made when I got back home.I used real sand and the tiniest, most perfect lil shells I have ever seen, all from Navarre Beach! I am SO ready to go back, I KNOW I could be a very happy Beach Bum!!

Welcome to My World

This sight is dedicated to the art of card making....of which I am addicted ! I began making cards a few months before Dan was deployed to Iraq.I wanted to make sure he had a new card to open every day, so I used BlueMountian.Co and created him 2 months worth of cards !About a year ago I saw that famous infomercial for a little bug called a Cricut.Well, after watching it numerous times, I HAD to have it...and I ordered it!!!Then I found the Cricut Message Board and I hit pay dirt!!! I was, and still am so inspired by some of the talented women on that board!I have to give them credit for making me the card maker that I am today!!!
Thank you ladies, from the bottom of my heart!
I hope you enjoy looking at my cards, as much as I enjoy making them!!!
