Y'all know that we had some bad weather back in April and we have to go to the lake every few weeks to check on things and our wonderful neighbors always watch the fur babies for us, so I made them this lil card set to show my appreciation!! I'm going to tuck a Blockbuster's gift card into the holder and add several packs of popcorn to the box.
Here's the recipe for my project:

Good morning Y'all !! I made it through Atlanta without havin a nervous breakdown...yea me !! This card is for my X Daughter in Law.He father passed away last week and I wanted to make her a card and to use a new technique that I discoverd over at Scrapbook.com. I used a Prima flower for the butterfly !! Many of you may have seen this and used the flowers for butterflies before, but I had never seen it and I couldn't wait to try it out. Considering that it's my 1st attempt, I think it came out kinda pretty! There are several tutorials on Youtube if you want to give them a try.I think I keyed in "how to make butterflies from prima flowers." I used Cindy Loo for the frame and Wild Card for the sentiment. Added some pearls made with Liquid Pearls, did some inking and popping and added some Crinkle Ribbon ontop of the punched scallops. Thanks for taking a peek and for all the prayers that helped me make it through Hotlanta !! xoxoxox Joy

Happy Monday everyone !! It's challenge time over at My Craft Spot and this weeks theme is, Seeing Stars. I used Nursery Rhymes for this card, along with the Wild Card cart. I cut the base of the card at 5.5 and the the cow/moon was cut at 3.71 on my Gypsy. I cut many layers for the cow and moon so that I could use different colors, instead of just the silhouette. I did do some additional surgery on this image and used my Punch In The Page for all the stars. Did lots of inking and popping, used a white gel pen for the doodlin and embossed the background with a Cuttlebug hearts folder. I used Swiss dots for embossing the cow and moon. I added some beautiful Crinkle Ribbon and Bakers Twine that you can find at
http://craftspotbykimberly.blogspot.com/. I also added a star and a sweet charm to finish off the card. Y'all be sure to hop over to My Craft Spot and take a look at all the great projects that the DT did this week and make a card to submit in the challenge! Kimberly always has a great prize for the winner ! Thanks for taking a peek!!!

Hi Y'all....I have 1 sunflower that comes back year after year and it is blooming right now, so I decided to make a sunflower card...even tho it looks like a mum! Dan and I planted more sunflowers today and I am going to use this card, to share some seeds with my friend Darlene's, daughter. She has always shared day lilies and other flowers with me, so I thought I would make this card for her and share some seeds. My card critic Dan says this card is plain.....oh well.I used Paisley for the large flower and Bloom for the tiny lil flowers on the envie, which was made using the Wild Card cart. The picket fence was cut using the Bloom cart as well. The smaller flowers were punched. I did some inking and added buttons and called it done, even if it is plain! Thanks for taking a peek!!!

Hi Y'all....it seems like forever since I posted a card and I sure hate that it's a sympathy card.I found out through FaceBook that my friend Peggy, lost her Daddy several weeks ago. I used the Easter 2010 cart for the cross and I had seen so many wonderful cards made using Bloom, that I had to go out and buy it !! Y'all are such enablers !! Bloom was used for the mat. I added some punched butterflies and pearls and the sentiment is from Wild Card. Thanks for taking a peek !!! xoxo Joy

Good morning Y'all ! I hope your all having a great start to your week.I had to attend a funeral last week for 2 of my dear childhood friend's Mother. I grew up with Debbie and Kathy and was always treated like family when I was at their home. It was so sad to hear that Miss Bea had passed away.I made both girls a card using various carts. The blue card frame was made using Wild Card. I was surprised to find just the type frame I was looking for! The ovals and the scallop were from the same cart. I used a punch for all the vellum flowers and the butterfly.I used the Easter cart for the cross. Did some embossing and added some bling. The purple card was made using the Easter cart for the cross as well and a punch for the lattice. The same Martha Stewart, Hydrangea punch, was used for all the flowers on this one too. Added bling to the centers of each flower. Thanks so much for taking a peek !!!

Hi Y'all!! I spent the better part of the day working on this card ! lol I wish I could make up my mind about paper, lace, etc and stick with it...but NOOOO I have to change everything a dozen times and I'm still not happy! Do y'all do that to ? It just drives me nuts ! Anyway, I used the Sweethearts cart for this card. I just LOVE that scalloped heart, but I think I had consumed WAY too much coffee, thinking it would be a good idea to add all those tiny pearls to that vellum !! Oh I did use Wildcard for the vellum flower. Lots of inking and popping, added the lace and used that sweet postcard from a KnCo pack.Used several embossing folders and outlined the hearts with a glittery gel pen. Thanks for taking a peek !!!

Good morning crafters ! I know we never like to make sympathy cards, but we just have to.This is for a man in Dan's hunting club. Keith and his wife lost there 26 year old daughter in a car wreck last week. Actually, I knew Keith way back in the day when he was a detective with the Prattville police dept. and he would come into Kmart to make purchases for the dept. I often had to take care of all the paperwork that went along with the purchases and Keith and I became acquainted during this time. I am so in love with the vellum flowers that Scootingranny, over on the Cricut Message Board introduced us to the other day, via
Selma's Stamping Corner: Vellum Flowers. I used Wild Card for the flowers, cut at 1.25, 1 and .75 inches. I went out in the rain yesterday to purchase the Martha Stewart trellis punch ( I just had to scraplift Selma's beautiful card!) and I used a Spellbinders die for the sentiment, which was computer generated. Thanks for stopping by !!! xoxo Joy

I got a call this morning at 9am from Betty, one of my sweet lil swimmin wimmin, telling me that we were going to celebrate Jimmie Gayle's birthday at 12, TODAY! I thought her birthday was on the 4th, so I had to scramble to sling her a card together. She is an avid Auburn fan and she has a yard full of cats, so I combined the colors of Auburn and used the cat from Paper Doll Dress Up. The crown was used, because its her special day and to symbolize our hope, that Auburn will win 2 more games and be crowned the National Champions in college football!!! Embossed the background Core'dinations paper and sanded it, added some bling and used Wild Card for the sentiment. I wasn't real pleased with this card, but she squealed when she opened it and passed it around for all the wimmin to see, so if she was happy....I am too! Thanks for taking a peek!!

Good mornin Y'all !! I hope you're having a great start to your weekend!! I needed to make another wedding card and I used Love Struck for the focal point and Wild Card for the sentiment. This card is very similar to the one I made several weeks ago, but on this one I wanted to use a few colors that the bride had selected for her wedding. It's a fall event and she is using this wine color, along with greens and other beautiful fall colors. Added some pearls, ribbon, did some embossing and doodlin and sprayed it with Smooch. This paper is more of the So Sophie collection, by My Minds Eye....I'm lovin every single sheet of paper they made for this collection! Have a great weekend and thanks for taking a peek !!!

Good morning Y'all ! I gotta tell ya, I'm feeling all creepy! I had started making this card because you never know when you will need a sympathy card.Well, I almost had it complete when the phone rang and it was my sweet friend Sally, sobbing into the phone and I knew it couldn't be good news.... Sally is ALWAYS bubbly and in such a good mood. She had just found out that her Daddy had died in his sleep during the night. It sent chills running over me, because I had literally just misted this card with some Smooch and was waiting for it to dry!! Of course I was saddened to hear her news, but the whole thing has given me the willies! (I'm crazy ...I know ! ) I used Spellbinders Labels for the matting, Wild Card for the wording...there is no shadow so I tried making it....it didn't turn out so well, so I kinda placed it off center... Paisley for the flower and the large butterfly is a Spellbinders die as well....the small ones are a Martha Stewart punch. Added the rick rack,oh and I used a Fiskars punch too,and misted the flower and butterflies. I did some embossing with the Textiles Cuttlebug folder. Thanks for taking a peek!!!

Happy Monday Y'all !!! If you didn't know, I am addicted to Create a Critter !! After I finished my SSC card yesterday....I was just had to make a more colorful card and this is what I came up with..of course I changed the papers several times before I finished it. I used CAC for that darling lil frog and the dragonfly. The scalloped background piece is from that cart too. Since there was no shadow for the lily pad or the scalloped mat, I tinkered around with the G and finally got something that I could live with ! That was a test of my patience...trust me !! Did some embossing , a little doodlin, added vellum wings at the last second and lots of popping.Oh, I did use Wild Card for the HI. Thanks for stopping by and I hope y'all have a GREAT week!

Hi Y'all.....I chatted with my friend Sandi online this morning and she all but forced me make a card for the Jitterbug challenge. So this is my take. I used lots of carts for this one. Everyday Paper Dolls for the kite, Doodlecharms for the bows, cause I didn't like the flimsy ones that were part of the kite cut. I used Stretch Your Imagination for the border,Home Decor( I think) for the cloud and Wild Card for the sentiment...wheeeeh. Lots of layering and popping, did a little inking and doodlin, added the buttons and there you have it.A thunderstorm is brewing as I type and the wind is gusting, so I imagine I could run out and fly a kite right now !!! Thanks for stopping by.....I'm headin to the lake tomorrow( if these thunderstorms leave the area) so I hope y'all have a great week!!!

Hi Y'all....This card is for the members of my Mother's Church. When my Aunt Evelyn passed away, they prepared our lunch for the day of the funeral and boy oh boy, those southern women can cook!! I used From My Kitchen for all the cuts.Did lots of layering , inking and popping. Oooops, I did use Wild Card for the Thank you. Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek!!!
Welcome to My World
This sight is dedicated to the art of card making....of which I am addicted ! I began making cards a few months before Dan was deployed to Iraq.I wanted to make sure he had a new card to open every day, so I used BlueMountian.Co and created him 2 months worth of cards !About a year ago I saw that famous infomercial for a little bug called a Cricut.Well, after watching it numerous times, I HAD to have it...and I ordered it!!!Then I found the Cricut Message Board and I hit pay dirt!!! I was, and still am so inspired by some of the talented women on that board!I have to give them credit for making me the card maker that I am today!!!
Thank you ladies, from the bottom of my heart!
I hope you enjoy looking at my cards, as much as I enjoy making them!!!
