~~~Father's Day ~~~
Good morning Y'all!! Are you ready for a challenge to start your week? If so, we have just the one you need over at http://craftspotbykimberly.blogspot.com/ ! This weeks theme is We Love you Dad and I bet some of you need to make a card for that special man in your life! I used the Sweethearts cart to make the scooter on this card. Lots and lots of layers for this one. I used Spellbinders dies for the hearts and Jasmine for the corners. The sweet sentiment is from the Inside and Out Set#1 collection that you can find at http://craftspotbykimberly.blogspot.com/. If you haven't had a chance to take a look at these fun stamps, you need to hop over there and take a look. The outside sentiment, as you can see says, A Hundred hearts would be too few ......and the inside says, To carry all my love for you. How sweet is that ?!? I used the Heritage cart for the frame for the sentiment. If your still making Father's day cards, come on over and enter them in the challenge. Kimberly always has some GREAT goodies to give away !!! Thanks for taking a peek...I hope y'all have a wonderful week!
~~ Thank You ~~
Hi Y'all ! My son, John Allen had a surprise birthday party last week and I wanted to make a Thank you card for his X wife. Her sister Amber, was the brains behind John Allen's party and Kristy went beyond the call of duty to help make goodies for his party!! Kinda crazy I know, but she has been a real sweetheart lately and I wanted her to know how much I appreciate her generosity. I was really looking for any reason to make these flowers ...hahaha... from the Paisley cart. The flowers are cut at 2.5",2.25", 2",1.75", 1.5", and 1.25 inches. I used the Heritage cart for the fence. 2 different Martha Stewart punches for the butterflies, layered on top of each other.Added some pearls and stamped the sentiment. The paper is more of the So Sophie collection, from My Minds Eye. The small scalloped circle is a Nestability die. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek !!!!
Easy Peasy...thank goodness, as this was a spur of the moment decision! Did some doodlin, used a Tim Holtz embossing folder and added buttons and that was it!! Have a great weekend !!! ~~Remake of John Allen's B'day Card ~~
No, You aren't seeing things.It's a redo of my Son's B'day card. I just never was real happy with it and since he is my only child, I wanted to make the best card I could. The 1st difference is that this card is 5x7 . That means that those flying ducks from the Wildlife Lite cart are bigger( wooohooo) I added some cattails, from Everyday PaperDolls and I selected a different set of swimming ducks.The pond is from Create a Critter and the trees are from Camp Out. The word Son is from the Heritage cart, which actually said Sons, but I just lopped off the last S. Lots of inking and much more dimension this time....lots and lots of pop dots and foam dots. I did add the yellow corrugated paper around the pond. Thanks for looking.....again!! Have a great weekend...I'm taking my folks to the lake for a few days and then to North Alabama to buy apples from their favorite orchard....8 hours to buy apples!!! Since we are in that direction we will be spending 2 nights with my Sista in Tullahoma Tn. I can't wait to see her and her family!!
See ya next week!!!
~~ Happy Birthday, Son ~~
HI Y'all....my baby, will be 34 next month and I bought the Cricut Light Wildlife cart, just to make him this card ! lol What was I thinking??????? This card was a labor of love and I hope he can see that!! John Allen has traveled all over the southeast to shoot a duck ....I don't get it, but he loves to go duck hunting , so that was my inspiration for this card. We have Mallards at the lake and they are always swimming so close together, so I had these doing the same. (Why is the Male bird,always the prettiest??) The flying birds are actually geese in the handbook, but guess what...now they are Mallards. I looked at MANY photos of mallards and tried my best to make them look realistic( cough..cough) This was the best I could do on such a small scale.I used Camp Out for the trees, Create a Critter for the pond and Heritage for SON. It was actually Sons and I just cut off the s, in case you go looking for it. Lots of inking, popping and a little embossing.I used Tim Holtz distressed embossing powder on the lettering, added some hemp and vintage buttons and was SOO glad this one was made.Oh yea, added some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist to give it that early morning feel! lol Thanks so much for stopping by...have a safe
weekend !!!
~~ Santa's Slackers Challenge # 3 ~~ Trim the Tree ~~
G'Mornin Y'all !! I hope you all had a safe and wonderful weekend! I got my football fix...watched college games all day and into the night...I'm a happy camper! This card is for the Santa's Slackers Challenge. I guess I am on a Prim binge and I found this prim looking doll on the Heritage cart and I used Don Juan for the trees. Her lil pinafore was cut using Paper Doll Dress Up and I used a punch for the stars. The sentiment is computer generated.Added some lace , did a little inking and finished it up with some corners I made using scalloped edged scissors.Thanks so much for taking a peek!!
~~ The Apple Barn ~~
Hi there!! When I saw this paper, by My Little Shoebox, I knew what I would make with it. I used to take my Mother to Ellijay, Georgia to buy apples fresh, from lil red apple barns that are all along the country roads. I used Everyday Paperdolls for the barn, Heritage for the cart and tractor, Stretch Your Imagination for the apple tree and the apples are from a punch I bought at Big Lots for 1 dollar!! Used the Swirls Cuttlebug folder for the tree, Swiss Dots and a Tin Holtz embossing folder for the barn. Did some inking and doodling and then sat down and had an apple with peanut butter on it ! lol I'm sending this one to my Mother and I hope it brings back fond memories!!! Thanks for stopping by Y'all !!!
~~ Happy Beelated Birthday ~~ and CCChallenge
Hi Y'all....one of my swimmin wimmin commissioned a card...she said no rush..its already late! But I got busy and made 1 and I really didn't like it, so I made another and .....wouldn't you know it, I'm not real happy with it either!!! grrrrrrr I get sooo anal sometimes. Dan, my greatest critic agreed with me ( I almost fainted...we seldom agree on anything) and said the 1st card is TOO busy,too many flowers... but then my friend Sandi said that bee's never have too many flowers around. Thanks Sandi! lol I'm taking both of them to her tomorrow and she can decide. The 1st card was made using a sizzix die for the large flower and Paisley for the smaller ones. Heritage for the fence and the bee is a sizzix die as well. I got them both for 1.97 so I couldn't pass up that deal at Joann's!! The circle sentiment was computer generated. The 2ND card was made using a flower from Storybook and the bee from Paisley. I also created the Happy Beelated Birthday border around the card on my computer. The font is called Bizzy Bee. Did a lil doodlin on both, lots of layering and popping. Thanks so much for taking a peek ...I'm buzzin outta here for now!!!
Welcome to My World
This sight is dedicated to the art of card making....of which I am addicted ! I began making cards a few months before Dan was deployed to Iraq.I wanted to make sure he had a new card to open every day, so I used BlueMountian.Co and created him 2 months worth of cards !About a year ago I saw that famous infomercial for a little bug called a Cricut.Well, after watching it numerous times, I HAD to have it...and I ordered it!!!Then I found the Cricut Message Board and I hit pay dirt!!! I was, and still am so inspired by some of the talented women on that board!I have to give them credit for making me the card maker that I am today!!!
Thank you ladies, from the bottom of my heart!
I hope you enjoy looking at my cards, as much as I enjoy making them!!!
