****A Few Christmas Cards****

HI Y'all....I have been MIA for a long time and i hope that my MoJo has returned and I can get back to card making. I sure have missed it!! Diane, Sandi, Tatiana and I have started back with the Santa's Slackers Card Challenge on the Cricut MB and I am so glad they twisted my arm! ~~~ Shabby Chic Tags ~~~

Good morning Y'all. I was a lil sick last week and didn't feel like creating, but I did watch alot of videos on Youtube and I was inspired to make these tags. I used Tags Bags Boxes and More for the 1st tag. You have to look hard to see that I stamped an image on the background of this Pink Paislee paper and embossed it with gold PearlEx. I added a butterfly from the Bloom cart and a little bling.The beautiful roses were a RAK from Tatiana, as well as the pretty brown ribbon...thanks T !! Diane inspired me to drag out my beads and I made the pin, using a vintage hat pin I found at an Estate sale. Thanks D for the inspiration!! The stamp is from Close To My Heart, I just cut it up and layered it. Lots of inking on both tags, added some feathers and curly Q's using Memory Thread. I wish I could take credit for the Birdhouse card, but I saw one similar to this one on Utube and I can't find it to give the talented lady credit. I used Stretch your Imagination for the birdhouse, Art Philosophy for the brown flowers in the corner and Sentimentals ( I think) for the bird. I also stamped on the background of this tag, used glimmer mist and Rub and Buff to give it an aged look. I made another pin and added this adorable charm I found at Hobby Lobby. ~~~ Timeless Love ~~~

Hi Y'all! I made this card for Dan, for Father's Day. It's a romantic card and could really be a Valentine's card, but he is my valentine everyday!! I had already cut out Timless Love, using the Plantin Schoolbook cart and I had already made and stamped the ticket too, using Summer Vacation, so I was tickled when I found the perfect vintage image! I had to tweek the ticket, using my Gypsy and I still had to do a little trimming but I was pleased at how well the ticket and stamp fit together!I used Walk In My Garden for the flowers. I just snipped the ends of the flowers with my pinking shears to make them look more tattered. The postage stamp matting was cut using Sentimentals.I added a Tim Holtz clock face and a heart charm, some vintage seam binding and some lace.I used Memory Thread for the curly Q's. You can find Memory Thread at Michael's and Hobby lobby and it's located back with the embroidery thread. I used Antique Gold Rub N Buff on the letters to give them an aged look.That can be found at Michael's too. Thanks for taking a peek!!!

~~~ The Henley Cousins ~~~

HI Y'all...I hope your enjoying this nice long weekend!! We had a cousins family reunion today in Sardis Alabama, at my cousin Cheryl's home. I wanted to make her a card and let her know how much I appreciated all the time and effort she put into planning this reunion. I used Plantin Schoolbook for the font. Papa and Ma are my great grandparents . Ma died before I was born but Papa lived to be 97 years young and was sharp as a tack until his last days ! He would always slip a 20 dollar bill into our hands if we were going on a trip, to the fair, etc and back in those days, I thought I was some kinda rich ! He would always say, here's you a little coke money. I have to tell you a little story about me and Papa. Mother said I couldn't have been more that 3 years old and I got to missing one day. My Mamma ( Papa's daughter) was frantic looking for me and then she realized that Papa was missing too. Well off she went to Mae's, a little juke joint down the road. There I was, with my hair in ringlets,dressed in my Sunday best, sitting on a stool at the bar, having myself a time, eating a roll of butterscotch life savers!! Mother said that Mamma laid into him with both barrels....needless to say, I never go to go back to Mae's! Anyway, I used Indi Art for the clouds, the tree was cut using Stretch Your Imagination and the 7 lil punched apples represent the 7 children they had. I sprintzed the clouds with Shimmer Mist , did some inking and called it done. Oh I have to tell this story too, cause I almost cried. My cousin Larry lost his wife and his mother ( Aunt Evelyn) all within a span of 7 days last year. I had made him a sympathy card and he hugged me tight today and told me, you sure do make pretty cards...I have the one you sent to me on the bookcase in the bedroom so I can look at it. I was moved to tears! Sorry that I have rambled on and on, but I wanted to share a few stories with you...I hope you all have a great weekend !!! xoxoxo

Good morning Y'all!! I have a dear friend, that has lost her job and she is so depressed. I made this card to cheer her up....I hope it will! Dan didn't get my lil pun at 1st, but I hope Susan will and that you do too! The inside sentiment is going to be something like,This is No Yoke, I hope you have a great day and find a job soon! I used Plantin Schoolbook for the letters that I welded using my Gypsy. The chickie and eggs came from Just Because and the scalloped border was from Stretch Your Imagination. I did lots of doodlin, a lil inking, added the ribbon and Memory Thread through the button and No Yoke....called this one done ! Thanks for taking a peek and I hope y'all have a great week!!

~~~ Hoppy Birthday ~~~

Good morning Y'all !!! Dan and I got back from then lake yesterday and while I was gone, I found some Mojo! I used the Sweethearts cart for the large frog and Paper Doll Dress Up for the smaller, hoppin frogs.I welded Hoppy together and Birthday came from the Create a Critter cart and I think the cake did as well. I used Stretch Your Imagination for the scalloped frame and thats just what I did... I stretched the frame to just the size I wanted, using my Gypsy. Thanks for taking a peek!!!!

~~ Santa's Slackers Challenge # 9 ~~

Good morning Y'all !!! It's time for another challenge and we decided to make Tags this week! We all need tags when we get started, wrapping presents and what better way to adorn your packages than with handmade tags! There are many carts that have tags, so you shouldn't have a hard time locating one or 2 that you really like.

Use any Christmas cut that you like and while your making a tag, why not make several! That's what I did. I used the gingerbread man on the From My Kitchen cart and the tag was cut from Good Ole George. The Gingerbread house was cut from the Stretch Your Imagination cart. Did a lil doodlin, added some glitter and there you have them. For the pine cones I used the Camp Out cart.I just love the look of this tag with the gold paper behind it! I have some beautiful wrapping paper with pine cones on it and these are going to look so purtty on that paper! The snowflakes tags were cut from When It's Cold Outside. I was soooo disappointed that the deer snowflake didn't cut cleanly, that cut was one of the main reasons I bought the cart! Anyway...I doctored up some of the flaws with glitter, and I used Celebrations for the scalloped tags. After I took the pictures outside, the spots I missed with glitter look bad, I guess I will have to re glitter them both!

Good morning Y'all !!! I can't believe we have been making Christmas cards for 8 weeks now...how time flies, when your having fun!!! We decided to make a side step card this week....OR... you can make a stair step card.....OR... an easel card.....whichever style you desire !!

We didn't make any other requirements this week ...just have fun!!!

~~ Black-Eyed Susan's ~~

Hi Y'all...I went to Selma yesterday, my home town and the drive over was lovely!!! It's a 2 lane, old country road , meandering through 2 swampy areas, farm land and pastures for miles and cotton ready to be picked, all along the way. Goldenrod, Black-Eyed Susan's, Morning Glories creeping along the fences, and Purple Statis blooming along every turn! Oh how I LOVE the south, especially this time of the year!!! I even pulled over on an old pig trail of a road, and picked some Black-Eyed Susan's. I'm telling ya, the countryside was ablaze with color !!! Anyway, I have been wanting to make a Side Step card for awhile now and I decided to attempt one today. After throwing away NUMEROUS pieces of scrap paper, I finally got a base that I could live with. I used the Paisley cart again for the flowers,cut at several sizes from 21/2" down to 1", My Community for the fence, cute at 31/5" and Stretch Your Imagination for the flower stems, I just lopped off the flowers and used the stems for the Paisley flowers. The small blue flowers are a punch, and the flourish is a Sizzix die. Even tho I almost pulled my hair out, making this base card, I know I will be making many more ! ~~ The Apple Barn ~~

Hi there!! When I saw this paper, by My Little Shoebox, I knew what I would make with it. I used to take my Mother to Ellijay, Georgia to buy apples fresh, from lil red apple barns that are all along the country roads. I used Everyday Paperdolls for the barn, Heritage for the cart and tractor, Stretch Your Imagination for the apple tree and the apples are from a punch I bought at Big Lots for 1 dollar!! Used the Swirls Cuttlebug folder for the tree, Swiss Dots and a Tin Holtz embossing folder for the barn. Did some inking and doodling and then sat down and had an apple with peanut butter on it ! lol I'm sending this one to my Mother and I hope it brings back fond memories!!! Hi Y'all...Sandi might be bossy, but she sure has lit a fire under my fanny!! Thanks girlfriend ! I used the same sketch, just flipped it and added some ribbon. I used Camp Out for the tree...its skimpy, but I wanted it that way so you could see the presents on the printed paper. I used Stretch your Imagination for the presents. ~~ Pumpkins for Sale ~~

I made this card while at the lake. It's about 10 degrees cooler at the lake, than at home and believe it or not, leaves are falling all over the place there,altho the drought might have something to do with it. Anyway, the coolness put me in the mood to make some fall cards. I used Gypsy Wanderings for the pumpkins and A Child's Year for the wagon. The flower is from Stretch Your Imagination. Good morning Y'all !!! I got back from the lake yesterday and while I was gone I got some MoJo back!!! wooohoooo I also found a Que Sera Sera paper pack at Michael's before I left ( My all time favorite paper! ) and I went crazy making cards with it! Most of these cards were made using Walk in My Garden and Stretch Your Imagination was used for the sunflower card. I only wish I had taken my Cuttlebug with me to enhance these cards...oh well.Did lots of layering, inking and added buttons and ribbons on some. Hi Y'all.....I chatted with my friend Sandi online this morning and she all but forced me make a card for the Jitterbug challenge. So this is my take. I used lots of carts for this one. Everyday Paper Dolls for the kite, Doodlecharms for the bows, cause I didn't like the flimsy ones that were part of the kite cut. I used Stretch Your Imagination for the border,Home Decor( I think) for the cloud and Wild Card for the sentiment...wheeeeh. Lots of layering and popping, did a little inking and doodlin, added the buttons and there you have it.A thunderstorm is brewing as I type and the wind is gusting, so I imagine I could run out and fly a kite right now !!!
