Happy Sunday Y'all !! While I was anxiously awaiting the start of the Auburn game late yesterday..Waaaar Eagle....we are still the #1 team in the country!!!!! AND since the Cricut MB was down, I had time to make some cards. I bought this sweet paper on sale last week at Hobby Lobby and I wanted to keep the cards simple and lightweight for mailing. I used Winter Woodlands for all of the cards, except the stockings and they came from the Christmas Cheer cart. The tree came from Doodle Charms ( I think) I just love this country themed paper so it was real easy to just mat it on red and then Kraft paper....I love that combo! As you can see they are pretty simple and took no time to make. Added some red nailheads , red jingle bells and some bakers twine that my friend Darlene gave to me..thanks Darlene...and called them done. Thanks for stopping by !!!!!!

~~ Hark The Herald Angels Sing ~~
Good morning Y'all.....one of my "swimmin wimmin" has commissioned a dozen Christmas cards and I wanted to offer her a few to look at and I wanted them to be special. Well, I didn't have to look far for inspiration....I just paid a visit to the UBBER talented Donna Mundinger!!! I knew I wanted to use this angel cut from the Christmas cart and I knew I wanted to incorporate this winter scene Cuttlebug embossing folder and I knew I wanted to use gold paper. That's as far as I got until I visited Donna's blog, Popsicle Toes, and saw not one, but 2 GORGEOUS cards!!! Thank goodness today, she had a tutorial for her latest work of art....wheeeh. I got out my Nestabilites, Label 4 dies and went to work and work it was. I'm all thumbs when it comes to centering things and as you can see, this one is no different!!! But this is just a prototype and I hope the next ones will be better.( that's what I keep telling myself !) I added the gold corners I got at Hobby Lobby yesterday at 50% off...wooohoo... y'all know I love a bargain! Thanks for taking a peek and THANKS Donna for inspiring me !

~~ Gift Bags for my Swimmin Wimmin ~~
Good morning Y'all! I was invited to a luncheon today that Betty, one of the Swimmin wimmin is having so I had to hurry and finish the bags I had started for them. Thank Goodness for Sherri Simmons and her GREAT creative mind !! I lifted her Frankenstein and used him on most of the bags and then made a pumpkin witch for the others. I cut a small brown bag down to 4", added some designer paper to the front, that had been embossed and then added the lil figures. I used George for almost all of the cute lil Frank and Gypsy Wanderings for the Top Note. I used Paper Doll Dress Up for the witch's hat,and a combination of Gypsy Wanderings, the pumpkin and Pct 31 for the face on the pumpkin. I fiddled around with my Gypsy, using the hide feature to create the pumpkin. Added a few punched stars and now I'm off to deliver the goody bags to my precious Swimmin Wimmin!! Thanks for stopping by !!!!

I used Christmas Cheer for the ornaments,Gypsy Wanderings for the top note and Plantin Schoolbook for the tags and the scalloped border. Added some ribbon and did a lil poppin and walla, card and coordinating tags. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek...I hope y'all have a really great week!!

~~ Santa's Slackers Challenge # 9 ~~
Good morning Y'all !!! It's time for another challenge and we decided to make Tags this week! We all need tags when we get started, wrapping presents and what better way to adorn your packages than with handmade tags! There are many carts that have tags, so you shouldn't have a hard time locating one or 2 that you really like.
Use any Christmas cut that you like and while your making a tag, why not make several! That's what I did. I used the gingerbread man on the From My Kitchen cart and the tag was cut from Good Ole George. The Gingerbread house was cut from the Stretch Your Imagination cart. Did a lil doodlin, added some glitter and there you have them. For the pine cones I used the Camp Out cart.I just love the look of this tag with the gold paper behind it! I have some beautiful wrapping paper with pine cones on it and these are going to look so purtty on that paper! The snowflakes tags were cut from When It's Cold Outside. I was soooo disappointed that the deer snowflake didn't cut cleanly, that cut was one of the main reasons I bought the cart! Anyway...I doctored up some of the flaws with glitter, and I used Celebrations for the scalloped tags. After I took the pictures outside, the spots I missed with glitter look bad, I guess I will have to re glitter them both!
Can't wait to see what you create...have fun.....I sure did !!!
~~ Life is Good ~~
Good morning Y'all !!! Last week my son's girlfriend, Casey, spent a few nights with my parents and she took us all on a long ride through the country . We went to a small town, Marion Junction, where my Dad went to the movies for the 1st time, when he was a young boy.He said he could watch the movie, get a coka cola and a bag of popcorn, all for a quarter !!! Those were the good ole days ! Then we went over to Old Cahawba, the sight of Alabama's 1st capital. My parents had SO much fun reminiscing about the old days, and just enjoying the ride.Life really was good, that day!! So I wanted to make Casey a thank you card. I used the Paisley cart for the Zebra, Good ole George for the circle matted on top of the Spellbinders scalloped circle, added some buttons and rick rack and the Life is Good, is the name of the paper collection. It was down along the border of the paper and I just cut it out to use...I don't throw ANY thing away! lol Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek !!!

~~ Spooky ~~
Hi Y'all !! I liked the sketch over at Jitterbuggin so well, that I decided to use it for this card. I'm going to submit it to the challenge over at My Sheri Crafts too...its a Halloween challenge! The house, lightening bolt and fence are from the Oct.31 cart. I tried cutting the cute lil scared pumpkin from the same cart....but my E didn't seem to like that lil curly Q top on her head, so I used the hide feature on my G, so that I could hide the pumpkin outline. I used the pumpkin from Gypsy Wanderings , shadow feature and added the face from Oct 31 to that pumpkin. My E liked that cut, much better! Did lots of inking and popping and literally held my breath while the Cricut cut that house...wheeeh! I was pleasantly surprised that it cut so well, for such a small cut. I think it was done at 21/2". Anyway,I'm breathing now!! I hope y'all have a great weekend!! Thanks for taking the time to check out my card !!!

~~ Black-Eyed Susan's ~~
Hi Y'all...I went to Selma yesterday, my home town and the drive over was lovely!!! It's a 2 lane, old country road , meandering through 2 swampy areas, farm land and pastures for miles and cotton ready to be picked, all along the way. Goldenrod, Black-Eyed Susan's, Morning Glories creeping along the fences, and Purple Statis blooming along every turn! Oh how I LOVE the south, especially this time of the year!!! I even pulled over on an old pig trail of a road, and picked some Black-Eyed Susan's. I'm telling ya, the countryside was ablaze with color !!! Anyway, I have been wanting to make a Side Step card for awhile now and I decided to attempt one today. After throwing away NUMEROUS pieces of scrap paper, I finally got a base that I could live with. I used the Paisley cart again for the flowers, cut at several sizes from 21/2" down to 1", My Community for the fence, cute at 31/5" and Stretch Your Imagination for the flower stems, I just lopped off the flowers and used the stems for the Paisley flowers. The small blue flowers are a punch, and the flourish is a Sizzix die. Even tho I almost pulled my hair out, making this base card, I know I will be making many more ! Thanks for taking a peek...Have a great weekend !!!!

~~ Yet ANOTHER Sympathy Card ~~
Good Morning!! I found out yesterday that my friend Zannie, lost his battle with Lou Gehrig's disease and I wanted to make his sister, a card. God is good and I don't question His will, but I'm bout tired of making sympathy cards!! Anyway, I made those beautiful flowers from the Paisley cart. Used the Easter cart for the cross and George for the circle, on top of the Nestabilities scalloped circle. Added some gold buttons that Maxine, one of my "swimmin wimmin" gave me and added the small gold pearls in the corners. I did the tips of the flowers in gold Color Box Ink and then added a little sparkle with a Martha Stewart gold glitter pen. I also outlined the cross with the same pen, altho I'm sure you can't see it. I embossed the background paper and circle as well. The paper is from the So Sophie collection...I really am enjoying using this paper, I LOVE the texture! Thanks for stopping to take a peek!!!

~~ Thank You ~~
Hi Y'all ! My son, John Allen had a surprise birthday party last week and I wanted to make a Thank you card for his X wife. Her sister Amber, was the brains behind John Allen's party and Kristy went beyond the call of duty to help make goodies for his party!! Kinda crazy I know, but she has been a real sweetheart lately and I wanted her to know how much I appreciate her generosity. I was really looking for any reason to make these flowers ...hahaha... from the Paisley cart. The flowers are cut at 2.5",2.25", 2",1.75", 1.5", and 1.25 inches. I used the Heritage cart for the fence. 2 different Martha Stewart punches for the butterflies, layered on top of each other.Added some pearls and stamped the sentiment. The paper is more of the So Sophie collection, from My Minds Eye. The small scalloped circle is a Nestability die. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek !!!!

~~ Congratulations ~~
Good mornin Y'all !! I hope you're having a great start to your weekend!! I needed to make another wedding card and I used Love Struck for the focal point and Wild Card for the sentiment. This card is very similar to the one I made several weeks ago, but on this one I wanted to use a few colors that the bride had selected for her wedding. It's a fall event and she is using this wine color, along with greens and other beautiful fall colors. Added some pearls, ribbon, did some embossing and doodlin and sprayed it with Smooch. This paper is more of the So Sophie collection, by My Minds Eye....I'm lovin every single sheet of paper they made for this collection! Have a great weekend and thanks for taking a peek !!!

~~Remake of John Allen's B'day Card ~~
No, You aren't seeing things. It's a redo of my Son's B'day card. I just never was real happy with it and since he is my only child, I wanted to make the best card I could. The 1st difference is that this card is 5x7 . That means that those flying ducks from the Wildlife Lite cart are bigger( wooohooo) I added some cattails, from Everyday PaperDolls and I selected a different set of swimming ducks. The pond is from Create a Critter and the trees are from Camp Out. The word Son is from the Heritage cart, which actually said Sons, but I just lopped off the last S. Lots of inking and much more dimension this time....lots and lots of pop dots and foam dots. I did add the yellow corrugated paper around the pond. Thanks for looking.....again!! Have a great weekend...I'm taking my folks to the lake for a few days and then to North Alabama to buy apples from their favorite orchard....8 hours to buy apples!!! Since we are in that direction we will be spending 2 nights with my Sista in Tullahoma Tn. I can't wait to see her and her family!!
See ya next week!!!

Welcome to My World
This sight is dedicated to the art of card making....of which I am addicted ! I began making cards a few months before Dan was deployed to Iraq.I wanted to make sure he had a new card to open every day, so I used BlueMountian.Co and created him 2 months worth of cards !About a year ago I saw that famous infomercial for a little bug called a Cricut.Well, after watching it numerous times, I HAD to have it...and I ordered it!!!Then I found the Cricut Message Board and I hit pay dirt!!! I was, and still am so inspired by some of the talented women on that board!I have to give them credit for making me the card maker that I am today!!!
Thank you ladies, from the bottom of my heart!
I hope you enjoy looking at my cards, as much as I enjoy making them!!!
