Good mornin Y'all...Happy Monday! I was fiddlin around with some felt this weekend and made these cute lil flowers. I also experimented with Tim Holtz Distressing Powders as well as some other embossing powders.I used My Community for the picket fence, cut at 4. x 5.25 and I used the Distressing powder on this piece. It blends in so well you can barely see it along the tips and sides.I cut the lady bug, using Walk in my Garden. The lil flowers were cut with Cuttlebug dies, I used embossing powders and when I heated it up, the flowers took on a life of their own...shrinking and twisting and looking all funky....but flowers do bloom in all shapes and sizes!! The butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch and I added embossing powders to them, as well as to the tag.I really had fun using techniques that I hadn't worked with much before.I added the hemp for the vine, some brads and there ya go....a lil piece of spring!! Thanks so much for stopping by !!!!

~~ Just a pot of Flowers ~~
Good morning y'all.....I think I made this card, cause I am wishing spring would hurry up and get here!! I discovered this cute lil flower from Platin Schoolbook and I just love it!! Thanks to whomever it was that posted a card using this flower, on the Cricut Message Board!! I cut it at several sizes and layered some, inked the edges and popped them with foam dots, added the brads and butterflies, the ribbon , embossed the background with a new sizzix folder, but I think I will have to tinker with it next time and use a shim or something, because you can barely see it. Added a lil bling to the butterflies and rick rack .Oh yea, I stitched on this card too...I even stitched stems for the flowers....look real close...yea...there they are ! Thanks so much for taking time to stop by, your comments just make my day!!!!

~~ Happy Birthday Brother ~~
Good morning Y'all....Happy Valentine's day !!!! I made this card for my Brother Jim. His birthday is on St. Patrick's day and I had made him a birthday card with that theme, but I really didn't like it and I'm sure he gets tired of St Patty's Day themed cards anyway,so I trashed it . I used From My Kitchen for the cupcake.Used the shift key to get the yummy frosting top instead of the one with the cherry. I got some help from the pre made Brother tag. Stamped happy Birthday and used Tim Holtz distressing powder to give it some life.Added the tag and attached it to the hemp with a copper safety pin. I ran the bottom of the cupcake thru the crimper, but you really cant tell, embossed the frosting, added the pearlized paint and gave it a light inking with Ranger, tea dye ink. I used a deep edge Martha Stewart punch and stitched around the top layer. My brother loves my cards and I hope he loves this one too! Thanks so much for stopping by!!!!!!

~~ Kiss me, I'm Irish ~~
I decided to play along with the Cricut Cradz Challenge this week...to make a card using any card feature on any cart.Well, I decided to use the frog from Paisley. It might have been helpful to look at the booklet before I started cutting using my G, maybe then his mouth would have been done correctly, but I improvised and I think he turned out alright.I cut the card, as large as my 12 x 6 mat would allow. The frog himself, cause y'all should know by now I LOVE to layer, was cut at 4.34 x 3.86, 3 times. The pot of gold, from Paper doll Dress Up was cut at 1.95 x 4.21, 2 times in black and once in gold. The shamrock is from the same cart, cut 3 times at 1".His hat, also from PDDU was cut at 3.35 x 6.29 , 4 times , 2 times using the black paper, once in the polka dots and once in gold just so I could get the buckle. I painted on some stickles, added the bling in the corners, the ribbon and the computer generated sentiment. Ok y'all...kiss me...cause I really do have Irish blood running thru these veins !!! Thanks for stopping by and taking a lil look see !!!!

~~ Love is in the Air ~~
Last, but certainly not least, a card for my baby....my 33 year old baby, John Allen. I had NO idea what to put on his card so I put lots of stuff. It's a lil busy, but like I said, I threw everything at this card, except the kitchen sink! I used Doodlecharms for the hearts, layers and layers of hearts with UTEE on the smallest one.The wings are from Indie Art, all glittered up with Martha Stewart fine crystal glitter. The sentiment was computer generated and I used a nestabilities round scallop to mat it with. The X and O are from George. This card weighs a TON...wanna know why? Other than all the layers, I was looking at this card and was ready to take a picture, only to realize I had glued it down ...upside down. Yep. Upside down. I was not going to try and pull it apart..too much ATG tape, pop dots etc. So, the post office will make a killing off of this card. Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek....I'm off to make a big pot of homemade soup and get ready for the 4" of snow they are predicting for us tonight and tomorrow !!! brrrrrr Stay warm Y'all !!!

~~ Sweet ~~
Good morning Y'all !! I made this card for a challenge over at CCC....a valentine card with NO hearts.I was riding home the other night from Birmingham and this card popped into my brain. I knew I wanted chocolate covered strawberries and I was wondering if my Drippy Goo punch would do the trick and I think it did! I used New Arrival for Sweet, Indie Art for the strawberries and I loaded the chocolate up with UTEE ( Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel) Since the background paper was all glittery, I decided to glitter everything! I used a Martha Stewart punch, added some buttons and paper string and there you have it! Thanks for stopping by!!!

~~ Thinking of You ~~
Good morning Y'all.....I made another, thinking of you card, this time for my cousin Larry and his sweet wife Barbara. Barbara has been battling cancer, for as long as I can remember and the had to call hospice in last week. We all know what that means. Since I didn't get to go down and visit with them a few weeks back, when my Mother went down, I wanted to make them a card. They live down on the beach in Alabama, and every time I think of all my family down there, I always visualize the beach, so I thought this cut from A Child's Year would do. This is a pretty simple card, just made the cut in regular and shadow mode, added some buttons and hemp and gave it all a slight mist of glitter....it looks like it has sand all over it now! Thanks so much for taking a peek!!!

~~Vintage Valentine~~
Good morning Y'all...Happy Monday!!! This is another card made with one of my vintage findings. This lil valentine had 1928 written on the back, but I couldn't make out the names.I used chalk pencils to enhance the light lavender that was on the valentine, because it had faded with age. ( just like my mind ! ) I cut the heart from....rut roh, I cut it so long ago, I have forgotten which cart its from. ( see what I mean ! ) Senior moments are coming fast and furious here lately! I used the postage stamp from Cuttlebug along with Core'dinatiuons paper. Sanded it, glittered up the hearts ..well the entire card, actually. Added the rick rack....some more from my vintage stash, did a lil stitchin and poppin and there ya go!! Thanks SO much for stopping by and taking a peek!!

Welcome to My World
This sight is dedicated to the art of card making....of which I am addicted ! I began making cards a few months before Dan was deployed to Iraq.I wanted to make sure he had a new card to open every day, so I used BlueMountian.Co and created him 2 months worth of cards !About a year ago I saw that famous infomercial for a little bug called a Cricut.Well, after watching it numerous times, I HAD to have it...and I ordered it!!!Then I found the Cricut Message Board and I hit pay dirt!!! I was, and still am so inspired by some of the talented women on that board!I have to give them credit for making me the card maker that I am today!!!
Thank you ladies, from the bottom of my heart!
I hope you enjoy looking at my cards, as much as I enjoy making them!!!
