Good mornin Y'all !! I stayed up until 130 this mornin, cuttin out all the lil pieces to this card , times 6...its for my lil Swimmin Wimmin. I saw a card similar to this on the Message Board or one someones blog...I can't remember..but whoever you are....thanks for the inspiration!!!
I used the fish bowl and fish from Animal Kingdom ( thanks Sandi for the heads up for finding the bowl !! ) The bowl was cut at 4.25, one back layer of solid pink, then the patterned paper and then the waves. The fish was cut at 2.5 and of course, I layered her as well. Lots of inkin and poppin , used the swirls and bubbly looking Cuttlebug folders.I colored the fish lips with a Martha Stewart pen then added some lip gloss....glossy accents.....the lips look like a mustache, but oh well ! lol Used a border punch for the top and bottom of the mat, added some glitter, stickles and that adorable glittery ribbon. The small fish on the sentiment layer is a Cuttlebug fish. 1 down and 5 more to go!!! Thanks so much for swimmin by and taking a peek !!!
Hi y'all......I hope you are all staying warm...its looking like snow down here in Alabama... Again! I made this card for no one in particular and its kinda dark and I wasn't sure about posting it, but its elegant in its own way.It looks SOO much better in person.I used dark chocolate paper( dark chocolate is my favorite so I guess my subconscious gravitated to that paper) and I used a corner punch and embosser for all the corners. The scalloped heart is from Doodlecharms, as are the smaller ones.I cut the large heart in half and used the Martha Stewart scalloped punch to give it a little more effect.Lots of popping and inking, did some embossing, added the ribbon and button and there ya go. Oh I did add just a touch of red glitter all over....it has just enough bling to make it shimmer when you move the card back and forth. I love the effect!! Have a safe and warm weekend !!!
Hi Y'all.....happy Friday!!! 3 More days of hunting season and then I get my husband back....woohooo!! My Father wanted me to make a card for a friend he hasn't seen in many years. Well now....a thinking of you card...to a man....from a man...I could feel my hair frizzin on this one!!! BUT, I think I pulled it off and I hope you agree! I decided to do an Across the Miles, thinking of you card.Since his friend lives in Maine and we are here in Alabama, I selected 50 States for a starting point.I went to my PC Crafters Hug Bug Club and retrieved some graphics I had bought a few years ago when John Allen went to Europe.I found the perfect paper...a lil road trip paper for the BG and map paper for the states. The round atlas is from PC Crafters as well and Debbie Mumm is the artist.I cut the states at 2 inches, made multiple layers and inked all around everything.I embossed the BG paper using a Fiskars plate and I did it multiple times at all angles to give it a road map kinda feel.( you cant even see it...grrrr ) I did some poppin and added the brads and now my hair isn't all frizzled anymore! Wheeeeh this was a tough one for me but I like the way it evolved!! Thanks so much for stopping by...have a great weekend!!!
On a much lighter note, Casey, my sons girlfriend is celebrating her birthday on the 30Th...the last of my January birthdays !!! Yipeeeee Since I am giving her money, I decided to make her a little purse and slip it inside. I used Tags, Bags, Boxes and more for this one, cut as large as my E would cut it.I did cut off all the side folds because I wanted her to be able to open the purse, read the sentiment and grab the loot !! I felt guilty about using store bought flowers and not making then with my lil bugs, but its been crazy around here and I am going to Gatlinburg Tn. Thursday and I have been trying to pack for that trip, so I got a little help from these sweet paper flowers I bought at Michael's for 49 cents !!! Yep, a small jar filled with soft pastel flowers.I added the buttons with hemp and the round sentiment was computer generated. Rick Rack along the bottom and ribbon for the handle.Thank you for taking a peek ...and have a great week!!!
Hi Y'all....this year has started out on a bad note!!! 2 Sympathy cards in 2 weeks time! This one I really hated to have to make...its for our sister in law, Vicki. Dan's younger brother was killed in a car wreck Wednesday night. He was on his way home from working out of town and the weather was horrible. The state troopers think he hydroplaned and he had a head on collision with a couple in a pick up truck. Both of the passengers in the truck had substantial injuries, so please say a prayer for them, as well as for Dan.I made this with the Faith paper pack, by The Paper Studio.I used Indie Art for the cross and 50 States for the flowers.Lots of layering and popping, added small brass brads and ribbon. I also did some embossing on the Core'dinations paper and then sanded it. Thanks so much for stopping by and please be safe out there and BUCKLE UP !!!
Hi Y'all...yesterday was my birthday ( I lived another year...wooohooo ) and my friend Darlene made me this card and I LOVE it !! Darlene and another great friend Sharon ,took me to lunch at my favorite lil restaurant...they make THE best frozen margaritas and yours truly had several.Darlene gave me the card after 1 'rita and I just wept... right then and there!!! Darlene created the fence free hand and cut out all those flowers that just POPPED right out at me, when I opened the card!!! It literally took my breath when they popped out of that card!! She added so many great elements and a sweet sentiment that I couldn't even read thru my tears !! Y'all know how I love paper and this paper is the best, by K&Co. We left there and I went straight to Hobby Lobby and bought myself a present !! Yep...just what I need, another pack of paper !! Anyway, I just had to share this beautiful card and I hope you enjoy looking at it!! Thanks for stoppin by !!!
Happy Friday Y'all!! I was watching Mary over at Cradz TV and she made an S card. Since I have never attempted one, I decided to give it a try. Thanks for the inspiration Mary! AND, Mary has the S shaped card, thinking of you theme going on over at the Cricut Cardz Challenge, so I killed 2 birds with one stone ! I used Wild Card for the sentiments....thanks Darlene for letting me use that cart...now I want it !! ( Imagine that ) I used Walk in my Garden for the flowers and Jasmine for the corners. This paper is Cosmo Cricket, another part of the double pack that's on sale at Michael's!! Did a lil inkin and poppin, of course.Used the Textiles as well as the Swiss Dots cuttlebug folders for embossing, added the ribbon, a few buttons and hemp and there ya go.I had a hard time taking pictures of this one in order for you to see the shape, thats why there are so many.I hope y'all have a great weekend....thanks for stopping by !!!!
Hi Y'all......I hope everyone is having a great start to the week! I made this lil card for someone special that's been having a bad few weeks.A really simple lil card.I used Cosmo Cricket paper and Paper Doll Dress Up for the garments, hanging on the line.Used my oval nesties and cut them in half and embossed them.Used chocolate colored hemp for the line and safety pins to keep the wind from blowing them off. :) Added a lil punched flower to the dress along with some bling and rain drops.Y'all know I inked everything and did some poppin too.Oh this paper pack was on sale at Michael's this week for 4 dollars !!! What a deal!! Thanks for stopping by and taking a little peek, I hope y'all have a great week!!!
Good morning Y'all......from rainy, dreary Alabama, but at least its warmer !! I'm still in my Valentine making mode and I made this one for Dan. I used my Nestabilities for the scalloped hearts, and Indie Art for the lock and key. Did a lil inkin ,poppin and stichin. Added the ribbon and one of my vintage metal buttons. The paper is Farmers Market and its a recycled paper pack....love the feel of it!!! Thanks for taking stopping by and taking a peek !!!
Hi Y'all !!!! I was looking at some graphics on my Hug Bug Club browser and saw this cute lil elephant with hearts coming out of his trunk and I decided to put my spin on it. I also noticed that BBTB2 was having a challenge to make a valentine card and use purple...so I did !! I used the Animal Kingdom cart for the elephant and Doodlecharms for my favorite lil hearts. I cut that elephant 4 times on regular cut and then once on shadow.I cut apart the pink elephant to get his ears and used the layer option for pink toes, and husk and made a heart from George for his tail.Did a lil inking and poppin, added the rick rack, stickles, button and ribbon. The sentiment was computer generated. I used a 11/2 circle punch and scalloped nesties for the sentiment. Thanks for taking a peek!!!!
I thought I was finished with my January b'days, but I have one more....wheeeeh. This one is for my Step father.....but he is really more like my real Daddy. He LOVES to go deer hunting, but unfortunately, his health is declining and he can't go as often. He will be 82, on the 24Th of this month and he is one of the reasons I bought the Camp Out cart.I used it for all the cuts, except for the back ground trees, and they are from Christmas Noel. When I saw the challenge over at the Cricut Cardz Challenge I was tickled, cause I had designed this cards weeks ago and had it just waiting on me, in my Gypsy! Lots of inking and popping.I embossed the background with the Cuttlebug snowflake folder and the "snow" with the swirls folder.I found the tiny lil snow flake punch at Big Lots for a dollar ( I just love a deal !! ) and the larger snow flakes ( they are small too ) is a punch from Michael's. I added just a touch of glitter to most of the images and added the hemp cord along the sides. Thanks so much for stopping by!!!!! Happy Hump Day !!!
I just had to get away from the birthday cards for a bit and make a Valentines day card.I love this paper pack from K&Co! I used the umbrella from A Child's Year , hearts from Doodlecharms, the clouds are a Sizzix cut and the butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch. Lots of layering and inking.Y'all know I tried to add some ribbon somewhere on it, but just couldn't ! I'm having withdrawals !! Thanks for taking a peek!!!!
Yet another play on words birthday card.I think I have 1 left to make...wooohoo! I used Doodlecharms for the puppy dog and his hat, Gypsy Wanderings for the oval mat behind him, Paper Doll Dress up for the dog bone and Jasmine for the corners.I just love my G when it comes to using a variety of carts..it has made my life much easier!! Did some inking and popping and a lil doodlin.Added the pearls,a button and 3d paint and there he is!! Thanks for stopping by!!! Oh yea...we are having a heat wave in Alabama today...its 41 degrees !!!!!
Y'all....if is doesn't soon get above freezing in Alabama, I'm gonna be a big ole icicle!!! I am not liking this at all.....if there was some snow to look at, I wouldn't mind...but just this cold is killin my old bones and my feet...ohhhh I think I need some of those hand warmers that Dan uses when he goes hunting, to slip down into my socks.I know the power bill is going to be through the roof this month!!Anyway,I have been busy trying to make a few cards for all these January babies and I created this one, for a friend of mine.I'm not so sure I like it, but its the best I could do with chattering teeth and frozen toes !! I know you feel my pain, Donna ! lol I used Serenade for the cage, cut 2 times at some crazy sizes I fiddled with. The lil tree limb and swirls are from the same cart. The bird is from the Gypsy font cart.Did a lil inkin and poppin and embossing.Added the ribbon and button and called this one done!! Oh yea, added some 3d paint....its those lil aqua dots. Well, this bird is off to put on an additional pair of fuzzy wuzzy socks. Thanks so much for stopping by!!!!! Stay warm!!
I wish Spring was in the air!! It's still freezing down here in Alabama...it just ain't right ! I went over to BlueMountian.com this afternoon to look for some sentiments and I found this one on a cute card, so I just went to my lil studio and put my spin on it. I used good ole George for the large heart cut at 1.5", the small ones are from Doodlecharms cut at 1/2 inch and the basket is from that cart as well, cut at 1.5" .The turtle is from Walk in My Garden and was cut at 1.5 inches too. I used Nestabilities, Label 4 for the sentiment. The paper is Lovely by K&Co.I did some inking and popping and added the rick rack. The butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch.
Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek !!!
Good morning Y'all....from the frozen state of Alabama!! Brrrrrrrr I went to the lake for New years and went to my favorite Flea Market and found tons of goodies to use on my cards ! I found a book from 1935, filled with sheets of music and I used a piece in this card.I love the old yellowed look it has so all I had to do was ink it a tad.I found some vintage valentines too and as much as I hated to do it, I cut them up.The lil girl on the pony is from one, given to Park Lutz from Mabel on Feb 14Th, 1918!!! They were in the 6Th grade.I did a jig when I looked on the back and found the names and date! I found the lil tatted doilie there as well. I used a chipboard circle I got from Big Lots, just added some glitter and welded Be Mine, from Don Juan and I made the heart button from that cart as well.I used UTEE to give it that high gloss effect.Added the lil heart brad and ribbon and there you have it, a recycled vintage valentine !! Thanks so much for stoppin by !!! Stay warm...wherever you are !
Hey Y'all...It's already misting in Alabama and that means snow is on the way!!! It's so rare that we get that white stuff, I'm kinda looking forward to it.But, I'm glad it will be gone tomorrow.I had this Nana's Nursery paper out and decided to make a valentine for Ann.This lil polka dot paper squealed at me...it said make pigs outta me ... So that's what I did!! Ann collects pigs and I know she will love this lil fella, From My Kitchen...it is the funniest lil thing. I used Doodlecharms for the hearts, cut at various sizes.Mary over at Cardz TV had done one and I knew I had to lift it...thanks Mary for the inspiration! Thanks for stopping by to check out the piglets !!
Hi Y'all.....it is COLD in Alabama!!! I had to turn on my lil heater in my "studio", as Dan calls it so I could finish this card.My sister loves my cards and she had heard me mention that I hit some local flea markets looking for vintage items for my cards.Well, for Christmas she gave me a box FULL of vintage goodies I can use on my cards!!! She had gone to an Antique Auction in Bell Buckle Tn and got into a bidding war with another lady for all these buttons. The other lady thought she was bidding on the entire lot, when actually, they were bidding on just 1 jar of buttons. That poor woman paid 50 dollars for 1 jar of buttons ! Anyway, my sister bid 55 dollars and got the entire lot!!! I now have 8 jars of buttons( I'm in button heaven! ) some old Ric rac, thread, lace, old garter belt thingys, lol so much stuff I cant name it all.So I made my sister, Janice, a card with a few of the items on the card.I used Gypsy Wanderings for the Thanks and the heart. The white binding that I stamped on, is material to make a belt with, I added the packaging from 1 of the packs of ric rac...look at that price ! The yellow tape measure was in my box of goodies and of course the buttons.I'm really tickled with this card and I hope she will be too. Thanks SEW much for stopping by and taking a peek !!!
I have and will be SO busy making birthday cards this month.Lets see, 9 months ago was May...spring must have been in the air, along with legs ! lol I'm sorry...I had to say that.Hey, Im a January baby too!! OK, starting the month off is my great niece, Katie. She will be 1 ...how time flies.Since I really had forgotten that hers was so early, ( I thought is was the 12th) I had to whip this one up last night. I used my new ACY cart for the sweet lil baby in the highchair.I used Celebrations for the number 1 and added the ribbon and button.Sweet and simple and fast.
Next is for my friend Darlene. She loves snowmen and since I got Winter Woodland from Santa too and hadn't used it, I used it for the Frosty Wishes,Doodlecharms for the Snow man...I wanted a fat fluffy one...Gypsy Wanderings for the cupcake. Embossed the snow with the snow flake folder, added the lil tag, ribbon and button and there you have it. Of course I inked them both and used lots of pop dots .2 down, 4 to go !!! Thanks so much for taking a peek!!!
I sure didn't want my 1st post of the new year to be a sympathy card, but God had other plans. This is for Sandi, a dear friend I have now, thanks to the Cricut Message Board. Her father passed away unexpectedly day before yesterday and this is my futile attempt to express my sympathy. Words seldom can express, what our heart feels, but I hope this simple card can convey it, somehow.I used Indie Art for the cross and Serenade for the flourishes.I think I'm going to use this cart alot! I did lots of layering , popping and inking and added the lil gold beads and called it done. Thanks so much for looking...I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a safe and Happy New year!!!! xoxoxox
Welcome to My World
This sight is dedicated to the art of card making....of which I am addicted ! I began making cards a few months before Dan was deployed to Iraq.I wanted to make sure he had a new card to open every day, so I used BlueMountian.Co and created him 2 months worth of cards !About a year ago I saw that famous infomercial for a little bug called a Cricut.Well, after watching it numerous times, I HAD to have it...and I ordered it!!!Then I found the Cricut Message Board and I hit pay dirt!!! I was, and still am so inspired by some of the talented women on that board!I have to give them credit for making me the card maker that I am today!!!
Thank you ladies, from the bottom of my heart!
I hope you enjoy looking at my cards, as much as I enjoy making them!!!
