Wheeeeh. I have been working on that card order forever it seems and this is the last of them! Jimmie Gayle had seen one of my other Homespun cards and she really liked the poinsettia one , so along with the fancier ones, I made her 3 more of this type card. I used the poinsettia from Winter Woodland and Joys of the Season. Used various Spelldinders for the frames, Walk in My Garden for the flower pot and Paisley for the mum. Added some red nail heads, bakers twine and was glad to call these done !!! Thanks for taking a peek!!!

~~~ Happy Birthday ~~~
Good morning Y'all !! My Mother will celebrate her 84Th birthday on Sunday and I got busy making her a card this afternoon. I would have been done with it earlier but, I attempted to stamp a simple little Happy Birthday on that frame and needless to say, I ended up oh, about 3 hours later, using my computer!! Sheeeeeeeesh It was ridiculous !!! I started to use a poinsettia for the flower, but I went back to my all time favorite flower, from the Paisley cart. I added a few more layers this time, starting with a 3" flower and ending with a 1" flower.I used leaves from the Cindy Loo cart. The center is made from small gold beads that my Bud , Sandi sent to me.I used a Spellbinders tag for the sentiment.Added some bling that my dear friend Tatiana sent to me....I have some GREAT friends!! OH and a Martha Stewart punch to finish it off.Thanks for stoppin by to take a peek!!!
~~ Another Birthday ? ~~
I got a call this morning at 9am from Betty,one of my sweet lil swimmin wimmin,telling me that we were going to celebrate Jimmie Gayle's birthday at 12, TODAY! I thought her birthday was on the 4th, so I had to scramble to sling her a card together. She is an avid Auburn fan and she has a yard full of cats, so I combined the colors of Auburn and used the cat from Paper Doll Dress Up. The crown was used, because its her special day and to symbolize our hope, that Auburn will win 2 more games and be crowned the National Champions in college football!!! Embossed the background Core'dinations paper and sanded it, added some bling and used Wild Card for the sentiment. I wasn't real pleased with this card, but she squealed when she opened it and passed it around for all the wimmin to see, so if she was happy....I am too! Thanks for taking a peek!!
~~~ The 3 Amigos ~~~
Hi Y'all.....This is a birthday card for Dan, from the fur babies, Buddy, Tex and Sadie......AKA, the 3 Amigos. Before Dan's carpal tunnel got so bad, he would walk all 3 dogs, at one time and boy did they get into mischief. They had friends all over the neighborhood . Our favorite restaurant is a lil Mexican cafe, Jose's Cantina and he always brings the pups some left overs( I know...they shouldn't eat table food, but try telling Dan that! ) He always laughs and says it a wonder they don't bark in Spanish! Sooooo, that's why I made him this card. I have to tell ya, I cracked myself up making this card!! I used Animal Kingdom for the dogs,Wild Card for the sombrero's, Doodlecharms for the cupcake and the corners are an EK Success punch. OH....I almost forgot, the mustache's are from Christmas Cheer! I even gave Sadie a mustache because she is just as rough( rougher) than the boys are !! I hope this card makes you smile, because I know it will be Dan's favorite !!! Thanks for taking a peek!!!

~~~ Happy 60th Birthday ~~~
Hi Y'all...my lil Hunny Bunny Dan turns 60 next week!! I wanted to make him a few cards, one from me and one from the fur babies and this one is from me. I might have to mail them to him, since Black Powder Rifle season came in on Monday and I may not see him for months ! lol I really did ask him if he was coming home for the B'day and he just smiled. I used Create a Critter for the happy birthday, Indie Art for the star burst looking thing,Gypsy Wanderings for the musical notes and I cant even remember what cart the numbers are from.I embossed the Core'dinations card stock with the musical notes folder and used a glossy black paper for everything else. I mounted the base on a white card stock, altho you can't tell and that's why I added the black and white ribbon.....and these are kinda sorta the colors of The University of Alabama, so he will be pleased !!! ( I married outside of my religion....I'm an Auburn Fan...arch rivals like you wouldn't believe !) Thanks for taking the time to take a peek!!! xoxoxo
~~~~ SURPRISE ...SURPRISE...SURPRISE ~~~
I have NEVER been so touched in my life !! I went out to feed an old stray( feral) cat this afternoon and lo and behold, there was a package on the front porch .At 1st I thought Dan had ordered something for hunting and then I saw my name on it and I assumed it was some paper I supposedly won, months ago and to my amazement, it was from Tatiana Belova, a sweet friend on the Cricut Message Board !! I tore into it and read the card 1st and began to get all teary eyed....then with each carefully wrapped package I opened well, the tears flowed !!! I was sobbing like a crazy women by the time I opened the last package !!! I was laughing one minute and crying the next! Do you see all those goodies she sent to me ?!?!?!?! Peachy Keen stamps, ( my very 1st set !!!)a Cosmo Cricket paper pad( I have been wanting this paper forever!!!)The list goes on and on! I was and still am honored and humbled by Tatiana's generosity and her even sweeter words!!! I mean, she and I are virtually strangers..... We comment on each other's cards on the Message Board.....I can't begin to tell y'all how full my heart is. The world is a much better place, by having such a sweet and caring friend, as Tatiana!!! Thank you Tatiana, from the bottom of my heart!!!! I am so blessed to have ALL my friends here in blog land...Thank you all for your sweet words, your prayers and your inspiration....you all mean more than I can ever say!!!!! xoxoxoxo Joy

~~~ Santa's Slackers Challenge #11 ~~~
Good morning Y'all !!! It's time for another challenge. I can't believe Christmas is less than 2 months away!! Sandi and I decided on a simple card this week....just a Christmas tree !! How easy is that ? I opted to make mine an easel card because this the last card that I am offering Jimmie Gayle to choose from. She ordered 12 and she loves the easels so this is it. I used the Christmas cart for the tree and I cut the snow on the tree at several sizes....it was like working a jig saw puzzle to lay all those lil pieces out so I cut some larger. The snow drifts are from the same cart. I embossed the background with the Snow Village Cuttlebug folder, added some punched snow flakes and pearls and even tiny pearls on the small raised dots. This was hard to photograph because I used green holographic paper.It's really prettier in person. Once again, I left the base of the easel blank so she can decide what she wants there. I hope y'all have fun with the challenge.....I'll be peeking back to see what you have created...Have fun!!!!
~~~ Christmas Card Set ~~~
Good morning Y'all!!! I made a set of 4 cards last week and yesterday I made 2 more to go along with them and I made 4 coordinating tags. I also got a recipe box from Michael's for a buck , covered it in the same papers ( thanks for the link to the tutorial, Sandi ! ) and I'm going to give the set to Betty for her Birthday today. I matted the 2 new cards on green card stock and used Winter Woodlands for the mittens and the snow flakes. I didn't do any embossing or make alot of cuts, I wanted these cards to be simple and easy peasy and that they were !! Thanks for taking a peek...have a great weekend !!! (I'm going to show the new cards, tags and box along with 2 of the older cards( matted in red ) that I'm adding to her gift set.)

Hi Y'all....most of you might know that I love making cards, that have a scene on them and I haven't really made one lately, but today I did ! I used Winter Woodlands for the trees and the cardinal, Christmas Noel for the wreath, My Community for the picket fence and Cindy Loo for the cute lil birdhouse. Oh and the snow drifts are from the Country Life cart, without the sunrise. Did a lil inking and popping and used Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Powder on the fence to give it a weathered look. The snowflakes are a Fiskars punch. Used some of the beautiful So Sophie paper and I embossed the snow and background paper with the Snowflakes, Cuttlebug folder. Thanks for stopping by.....happy hump day !!!!

~~ Hot Diggity Dog ~~
Hi Y'all....one of my sweet "swimmin wimmin" is having a birthday this week and of course I had to make Betty a card. She has an old wiener dog that she adores , so I wanted to use this cute lil dog from the Paisley cart for her card. I used Country Life for the banner and the letters are from Storybook. The present is from the Celebrations cart. The hearts are from several punches. Did a lil inking and popping ..oh and I used a stamp too...wooohooo and got it right on the 1st attempt! I am a horrible stamper. Thanks for taking a peek!!!

~~ O Holy Night ~~
Good morning Y'all .....it's a glorious day here in Alabama !! This is another card I made to show to Jimmie Gayle. She ordered 12 cards and loves the easel cards, so I wanted to give her a variety to choose from.I am loving this cream and gold and I hope she loves it too! I used the Christmas Noel cart for the church as well as the star. I bought the new Martha Stewart ,Punch All Over The Page ,Starry Sky punch yesterday at Michael's ( 50 % off too ! ) I used that to punch out all the stars.I used the shadow feature for the gold background and the regular cut,as well as the layers for the church.Embossed the background with the Christmas Village ( not sure what the real name is ) Cuttlebug folder. I glittered the layers for the church, although you can't really see it well. I just added a few of the gold stars to the sentiment area. I'm going to let her decide if she wants to add her own message or have me cut a sentiment or print out something on my computer, that's why its blank.Thanks for stopping by !!! I hope Y'all have a great week!

~~Homespun Christmas ~~
Happy Sunday Y'all !! While I was anxiously awaiting the start of the Auburn game late yesterday..Waaaar Eagle....we are still the #1 team in the country!!!!! AND since the Cricut MB was down, I had time to make some cards. I bought this sweet paper on sale last week at Hobby Lobby and I wanted to keep the cards simple and lightweight for mailing. I used Winter Woodlands for all of the cards, except the stockings and they came from the Christmas Cheer cart. The tree came from Doodle Charms ( I think) I just love this country themed paper so it was real easy to just mat it on red and then Kraft paper....I love that combo! As you can see they are pretty simple and took no time to make. Added some red nailheads , red jingle bells and some bakers twine that my friend Darlene gave to me..thanks Darlene...and called them done. Thanks for stopping by !!!!!!

~~ Hark The Herald Angels Sing ~~
Good morning Y'all.....one of my "swimmin wimmin" has commissioned a dozen Christmas cards and I wanted to offer her a few to look at and I wanted them to be special. Well, I didn't have to look far for inspiration....I just paid a visit to the UBBER talented Donna Mundinger!!! I knew I wanted to use this angel cut from the Christmas cart and I knew I wanted to incorporate this winter scene Cuttlebug embossing folder and I knew I wanted to use gold paper. That's as far as I got until I visited Donna's blog, Popsicle Toes, and saw not one, but 2 GORGEOUS cards!!! Thank goodness today, she had a tutorial for her latest work of art....wheeeh. I got out my Nestabilites, Label 4 dies and went to work and work it was. I'm all thumbs when it comes to centering things and as you can see, this one is no different!!! But this is just a prototype and I hope the next ones will be better.( that's what I keep telling myself !) I added the gold corners I got at Hobby Lobby yesterday at 50% off...wooohoo... y'all know I love a bargain! Thanks for taking a peek and THANKS Donna for inspiring me !

~~ Gift Bags for my Swimmin Wimmin ~~
Good morning Y'all! I was invited to a luncheon today that Betty, one of the Swimmin wimmin is having so I had to hurry and finish the bags I had started for them. Thank Goodness for Sherri Simmons and her GREAT creative mind !! I lifted her Frankenstein and used him on most of the bags and then made a pumpkin witch for the others. I cut a small brown bag down to 4", added some designer paper to the front, that had been embossed and then added the lil figures. I used George for almost all of the cute lil Frank and Gypsy Wanderings for the Top Note. I used Paper Doll Dress Up for the witch's hat,and a combination of Gypsy Wanderings, the pumpkin and Pct 31 for the face on the pumpkin. I fiddled around with my Gypsy, using the hide feature to create the pumpkin. Added a few punched stars and now I'm off to deliver the goody bags to my precious Swimmin Wimmin!! Thanks for stopping by !!!!

Since we stayed up and watched the weather most of the night ( we were under a Tornado Watch) I decided not to waste my time and I made MORE tags and a card to go with them. I used Christmas Cheer for the ornaments,Gypsy Wanderings for the top note and Plantin Schoolbook for the tags and the scalloped border. Added some ribbon and did a lil poppin and walla, card and coordinating tags. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek...I hope y'all have a really great week!!

~~ Santa's Slackers Challenge # 9 ~~
Good morning Y'all !!! It's time for another challenge and we decided to make Tags this week! We all need tags when we get started, wrapping presents and what better way to adorn your packages than with handmade tags! There are many carts that have tags, so you shouldn't have a hard time locating one or 2 that you really like.
Use any Christmas cut that you like and while your making a tag, why not make several! That's what I did. I used the gingerbread man on the From My Kitchen cart and the tag was cut from Good Ole George. The Gingerbread house was cut from the Stretch Your Imagination cart. Did a lil doodlin, added some glitter and there you have them. For the pine cones I used the Camp Out cart.I just love the look of this tag with the gold paper behind it! I have some beautiful wrapping paper with pine cones on it and these are going to look so purtty on that paper! The snowflakes tags were cut from When It's Cold Outside. I was soooo disappointed that the deer snowflake didn't cut cleanly, that cut was one of the main reasons I bought the cart! Anyway...I doctored up some of the flaws with glitter, and I used Celebrations for the scalloped tags. After I took the pictures outside, the spots I missed with glitter look bad, I guess I will have to re glitter them both!
Can't wait to see what you create...have fun.....I sure did !!!
~~ Life is Good ~~
Good morning Y'all !!! Last week my son's girlfriend, Casey, spent a few nights with my parents and she took us all on a long ride through the country . We went to a small town, Marion Junction, where my Dad went to the movies for the 1st time, when he was a young boy.He said he could watch the movie, get a coka cola and a bag of popcorn, all for a quarter !!! Those were the good ole days ! Then we went over to Old Cahawba, the sight of Alabama's 1st capital. My parents had SO much fun reminiscing about the old days, and just enjoying the ride.Life really was good, that day!! So I wanted to make Casey a thank you card. I used the Paisley cart for the Zebra, Good ole George for the circle matted on top of the Spellbinders scalloped circle,added some buttons and rick rack and the Life is Good, is the name of the paper collection. It was down along the border of the paper and I just cut it out to use...I don't throw ANY thing away! lol Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek !!!

~~ Spooky ~~
Hi Y'all !! I liked the sketch over at Jitterbuggin so well, that I decided to use it for this card. I'm going to submit it to the challenge over at My Sheri Crafts too...its a Halloween challenge! The house, lightening bolt and fence are from the Oct.31 cart. I tried cutting the cute lil scared pumpkin from the same cart....but my E didn't seem to like that lil curly Q top on her head, so I used the hide feature on my G, so that I could hide the pumpkin outline. I used the pumpkin from Gypsy Wanderings , shadow feature and added the face from Oct 31 to that pumpkin. My E liked that cut, much better! Did lots of inking and popping and literally held my breath while the Cricut cut that house...wheeeh! I was pleasantly surprised that it cut so well, for such a small cut. I think it was done at 21/2". Anyway,I'm breathing now!! I hope y'all have a great weekend!! Thanks for taking the time to check out my card !!!

~~ Black-Eyed Susan's ~~
Hi Y'all...I went to Selma yesterday, my home town and the drive over was lovely!!! It's a 2 lane, old country road , meandering through 2 swampy areas, farm land and pastures for miles and cotton ready to be picked, all along the way. Goldenrod, Black-Eyed Susan's, Morning Glories creeping along the fences, and Purple Statis blooming along every turn! Oh how I LOVE the south, especially this time of the year!!! I even pulled over on an old pig trail of a road, and picked some Black-Eyed Susan's. I'm telling ya, the countryside was ablaze with color !!! Anyway, I have been wanting to make a Side Step card for awhile now and I decided to attempt one today. After throwing away NUMEROUS pieces of scrap paper, I finally got a base that I could live with. I used the Paisley cart again for the flowers,cut at several sizes from 21/2" down to 1", My Community for the fence, cute at 31/5" and Stretch Your Imagination for the flower stems, I just lopped off the flowers and used the stems for the Paisley flowers. The small blue flowers are a punch, and the flourish is a Sizzix die. Even tho I almost pulled my hair out, making this base card, I know I will be making many more ! Thanks for taking a peek...Have a great weekend !!!!

~~ Yet ANOTHER Sympathy Card ~~
Good Morning!! I found out yesterday that my friend Zannie, lost his battle with Lou Gehrig's disease and I wanted to make his sister, a card. God is good and I don't question His will, but I'm bout tired of making sympathy cards!! Anyway, I made those beautiful flowers from the Paisley cart. Used the Easter cart for the cross and George for the circle, on top of the Nestabilities scalloped circle. Added some gold buttons that Maxine, one of my "swimmin wimmin" gave me and added the small gold pearls in the corners. I did the tips of the flowers in gold Color Box Ink and then added a little sparkle with a Martha Stewart gold glitter pen. I also outlined the cross with the same pen, altho I'm sure you can't see it. I embossed the background paper and circle as well.The paper is from the So Sophie collection...I really am enjoying using this paper, I LOVE the texture! Thanks for stopping to take a peek!!!

~~ Thank You ~~
Hi Y'all ! My son, John Allen had a surprise birthday party last week and I wanted to make a Thank you card for his X wife. Her sister Amber, was the brains behind John Allen's party and Kristy went beyond the call of duty to help make goodies for his party!! Kinda crazy I know, but she has been a real sweetheart lately and I wanted her to know how much I appreciate her generosity. I was really looking for any reason to make these flowers ...hahaha... from the Paisley cart. The flowers are cut at 2.5",2.25", 2",1.75", 1.5", and 1.25 inches. I used the Heritage cart for the fence. 2 different Martha Stewart punches for the butterflies, layered on top of each other.Added some pearls and stamped the sentiment. The paper is more of the So Sophie collection, from My Minds Eye. The small scalloped circle is a Nestability die. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek !!!!

Good mornin Y'all !! I hope you're having a great start to your weekend!! I needed to make another wedding card and I used Love Struck for the focal point and Wild Card for the sentiment. This card is very similar to the one I made several weeks ago, but on this one I wanted to use a few colors that the bride had selected for her wedding. It's a fall event and she is using this wine color, along with greens and other beautiful fall colors. Added some pearls, ribbon, did some embossing and doodlin and sprayed it with Smooch. This paper is more of the So Sophie collection, by My Minds Eye....I'm lovin every single sheet of paper they made for this collection! Have a great weekend and thanks for taking a peek !!!

~~Remake of John Allen's B'day Card ~~
No, You aren't seeing things.It's a redo of my Son's B'day card. I just never was real happy with it and since he is my only child, I wanted to make the best card I could. The 1st difference is that this card is 5x7 . That means that those flying ducks from the Wildlife Lite cart are bigger( wooohooo) I added some cattails, from Everyday PaperDolls and I selected a different set of swimming ducks.The pond is from Create a Critter and the trees are from Camp Out. The word Son is from the Heritage cart, which actually said Sons, but I just lopped off the last S. Lots of inking and much more dimension this time....lots and lots of pop dots and foam dots. I did add the yellow corrugated paper around the pond. Thanks for looking.....again!! Have a great weekend...I'm taking my folks to the lake for a few days and then to North Alabama to buy apples from their favorite orchard....8 hours to buy apples!!! Since we are in that direction we will be spending 2 nights with my Sista in Tullahoma Tn. I can't wait to see her and her family!!
See ya next week!!!

~~ Sympathy for Sally ~~
Good morning Y'all ! I gotta tell ya, I'm feeling all creepy! I had started making this card because you never know when you will need a sympathy card.Well, I almost had it complete when the phone rang and it was my sweet friend Sally, sobbing into the phone and I knew it couldn't be good news.... Sally is ALWAYS bubbly and in such a good mood. She had just found out that her Daddy had died in his sleep during the night. It sent chills running over me, because I had literally just misted this card with some Smooch and was waiting for it to dry!! Of course I was saddened to hear her news, but the whole thing has given me the willies! (I'm crazy ...I know ! ) I used Spellbinders Labels for the matting, Wild Card for the wording...there is no shadow so I tried making it....it didn't turn out so well, so I kinda placed it off center... Paisley for the flower and the large butterfly is a Spellbinders die as well....the small ones are a Martha Stewart punch. Added the rick rack,oh and I used a Fiskars punch too,and misted the flower and butterflies. I did some embossing with the Textiles Cuttlebug folder.Thanks for taking a peek!!!

I know I will be making lots of these flowers. Anyway, easy peasy card....I didn't use all the layers on the bottom flower but I did use all 6 layers for the top flower. Embossed that orangey/red strip of paper, did some inking, added buttons and the rub on ...Fall, on the Sizzix tag. Thanks for stopping by..I am off to make me a garden of flowers !!!

~~ HI ~~
Happy Monday Y'all !!! If you didn't know, I am addicted to Create a Critter !! After I finished my SSC card yesterday....I was just had to make a more colorful card and this is what I came up with..of course I changed the papers several times before I finished it. I used CAC for that darling lil frog and the dragonfly. The scalloped background piece is from that cart too. Since there was no shadow for the lily pad or the scalloped mat, I tinkered around with the G and finally got something that I could live with ! That was a test of my patience...trust me !! Did some embossing , a little doodlin, added vellum wings at the last second and lots of popping.Oh, I did use Wild Card for the HI. Thanks for stopping by and I hope y'all have a GREAT week!

Welcome to My World
This sight is dedicated to the art of card making....of which I am addicted ! I began making cards a few months before Dan was deployed to Iraq.I wanted to make sure he had a new card to open every day, so I used BlueMountian.Co and created him 2 months worth of cards !About a year ago I saw that famous infomercial for a little bug called a Cricut.Well, after watching it numerous times, I HAD to have it...and I ordered it!!!Then I found the Cricut Message Board and I hit pay dirt!!! I was, and still am so inspired by some of the talented women on that board!I have to give them credit for making me the card maker that I am today!!!
Thank you ladies, from the bottom of my heart!
I hope you enjoy looking at my cards, as much as I enjoy making them!!!
